I had the pleasure of working with Laird at ARRL HQ for a few years, and he was a good friend, a true gentleman, and a credit to amateur radio and to humanity. He contributed a great deal to amateur radio, and made many friends.
I especially enjoyed the many Friday lunches I had with Laird and several other League old-timers, and the many interesting stories I had the privilege of hearing.
Amateur radio has lost one of its best with Laird's passing.
