Many hams have given so very much to our hobby. In their passing, it seems unfair to only remember them with a simple callsign listing in the pages of QST or a quick note in a club newsletter. We hope to provide a method by which you can remember amateur radio operators that have contributed to our hobby.

| John Martin Fournier DC0HW |
Also licensed as G8LRH
Born: January 12th, 1940
Died: August 2nd, 1991
Infected from the radio bacillus in young years, military service in the British Royal Airforce as a radio man and later as electronics and ship radar installation technician, he was never released from the influence of the higher radio waves.
It has brought him from London in the mid 1960s to the east Friesian town Aurich to marry his girlfriend Luise and from there he was now with his German callsign DC0HW very active, mostly on the UHF and SHF bands. Many own creations of transverters, linear amplifiers, low noise preamps, beam antennas and high standard equipment modifications of all kinds he made. He was a regular contributor to the DUBUS magazine. John was, in all personal and technological aspects, an outstanding radio amateur and for me as a young HAM a source of endless inspiration.
Unfortunately he died in Aurich at August 2nd, 1991 at the age of 51 years from a serious illness much too young. However, he will not be forgotten.
Samuel D. Redd KN4KGD passed away on 12/19/2020 at the age of 88.

Godspeed Sam and 73.
Your friends at JCARA.
| Arthur Hinrichs K0QL |
My Best friend Art K0QL passed away from several health issues and struggles that he met head on with a yest for life. He was 84 yrs old. Arthur spent 20 yrs in the Navy as Master Chief Electrician and was an avid short wave listener throughout his life. After retiring from the Navy, Art started his own business and was well know for repairing electric motors and related items including rewinding armatures and field coils. Much of this work was by hand. I met Arthur in 2002 at a local hamfest where he achieved his first ham ticket. He had tried several times prior but always struggled with the code. He achieved his Extra Class License shortly after and was an active ham the rest of his life. He loved to operate portable from what he called Deer Camp stringing wires throughout the trees to form his "Loop" antenna. Arthur was a generous man and would often donate parts, gear, and books especially to new hams to foster a hobby he truly loved. I spent the last 18 yrs knowing this incredible man. Peace be with you Art.
Mike Perry “Whisky-Mike" or "W-Mike” (from his former call , WM1K) passed away on Thursday night 11/5 surrounded by his brother & sister in law.
Mike battled testicular cancer, then brain cancer but the brain cancer returned. Within a week he was gone.
Mike was a long time member of YCCC. He loved CW & RTTY contesting, Field Day & DXing, classic rock and the Boston Bruins.
He cut his ham radio teeth at Bill Santlemann’s N1AU. From there he joined YCCC and enjoyed KY1H/K1TTT station many times. Mike helped Dave with lots of station, tower & Antenna projects.
Mike will be buried at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers , you may send a QSL to the Florida address listed on QRZ. If you are inclined, you may make a donation to a cancer charity while notifying his family via his QRZ address.

| Tom Straughan G3DKN |
Dad learned morse code in the RAF and worked the airwaves in Burma aged just 18.
He never lost his interest in radio, and was a member, and at one time president, of the Worksop club.
Passed away aged 95 in October 2020.
He encouraged me to get my G6 licence while I was at college, though I confess I haven't kept it up, and I never mastered morse code, despite being in awe of what could be achieved with a simple stream of dots and dashes.
He loved so much to communicate with people - face to face, and on the airwaves. So if you're one of the thousands of call signs that worked with him, thank you for making his life richer.
Henry Lee Allen, W5TYD (ex K5BUG, WB5TYD) of Caddo Mills TX became a silent key on June 28th, 2020. He was 82.
Henry is best known for making the “Texas Bugcatcher” mobile antennas that he produced for many years. Henry's antennas and accessories we of the highest quality, especially the coils. I have been running a Texas Bugcatcher for many years......

To build the largest and most complete Amateur Radio community site on the Internet - a "portal" that hams think of as the first place to go for information, to exchange ideas, and be part of what’s happening with ham radio on the Internet. eHam.net provides recognition and enjoyment to the people who use, contribute, and build the site. This project involves a management team of volunteers who each take a topic of interest and manage it with passion. The site will stand above all other ham radio sites by employing the latest technology and professional design/programming standards, developed by a team of community programmers who contribute their skills to the effort. The site will be something of which everyone involved can be proud to say they were a part. The eHam.net Team, Revision 07/2020. |
