It is what it is....  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
At a retail price of $39.95, one should not expect too much from such a product. It is a very basic Chinese-made hand mic with a rather poor dynamic element that requires significant mic gain in order to work. I found the audio quality to be flat and somewhat muffled, so much so in fact, that I removed the dynamic element and replaced it with a Heil HC-5. The result was a significant improvement in speech articulation and audio output when used on my Tentec Orion transceiver. Although I played with the internal EQ within the Orion when using the original dynamic element, it still produced poor audio reports from on-air tests. Thus the replacement of the element. Others may have different experiences.
