Reviews Summary for Heil HMM
Heil HMM Reviews: 3 Average rating: 5.0/5 MSRP: $85
Description: The unique design of the HMM eliminates the hollow, clam shell sound of
hand mics of the past. This has been achieved by designing an open grill
on top of the microphone case which detunes the internal hollow resonance
of the housing. The HMM is offered as the HMM and the HMM-iC. The
HMM is equipped with a full range dynamic microphone element with great
articulation. The HMM-iC is equipped with our iC electret element. The
flexible, but sturdy, coil cable terminates to a 1/8" male for the microphone
and a " male for PTT control. It is compatible with all of the Heil AD-1
Product is in production.

Great on Kenwood rigs!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Running a TS-2000X with a D-104-M6B hand mic, it really does break through pile ups, but when it comes to comfy arm chair rag chewin', folks don't really like it and have said several times to me, "You have a rig capable of some great audio there. Why don't you get a mic to bring that out?" So, I looked into what my options are. I really don't have room for yet another desk mic, so the Heil HMM hand mic looks like it could fit the bill. I even asked Bob, K9EID, if he knew of anyone using his HMM on AM QSO's? He answered, "Yeah, me!" And, I've heard him on 75M AM several times now with the HMM, so I bought one. Now, I have the best of both worlds, while still stuck working barefoot power. The D-104-M6B for those pile up busters and weak contacts, and the HMM for the AM and SSB rag chews. There, I can have my cake, eat it, and lick the leftover frosting.

great audio reports  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have had the HMM for more than 2 years and use it in my mobile with my Kenwood B-2000 (TS-2000) and it really works well , I am really happy with it, better than the factory supplied mic( if that is what it is) get good audio reports in the mobile and operate 160 meters or 17 meters most of the time. I also use a Pro Micro HC-6 headset at times but sure like the HMM.

Fantastic sounding audio!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Having used Heil Mic's, Headset's and Headphones for a while I decided to give the New Heil HMM fist mic a go, unlike the old one this one has only one element, The Full Range Dynamic Microphone Element, this gives about 10db rise around 2kHz which gives great speech articulation.
When compared with the stock mic that came with my Yaesu FT857D the Heil HMM not only sounded better but was also louder!
As with all Heil products the HMM is of high quality, looks like its built to last and feels good in your hand to boot!
Heil also mention in the leaflet that comes with the HMM that because the mic is sealed it can be used in wet environments without worries!
A worthwhile addition!
