best amp i've ever had....  Time owned: more than 12 months
I've bought second hand RAKE 801 and immediatly it seems very rugged and fine.
It have grid and plate protection and overload protection, and the 3cx800 in
grounded grid configuration with 35w in, delivery 750 w out, more or less.
and if you want to drive 50 or more it can easily ran KW.
I think the price is very interesting and if the name isn't resonant
internationally, the components are very rugged and well dimensioned.
Never had any problem at my shack; ther aren't too 801 in Italy but
it's a pity because are not so expensive like American model but i
think it is at the same level, or better.
Now i'm without amplifier....because i'm waiting for new 802 with 2x3cx800.
externally is equal, you can recognize only if you look at the top
cover where there are two hole for the tubes.
i like all teh RAKE model very much. Hope my English is good enough.
