Niche product   Time owned: more than 12 months
This is modified marine vhf antenna that's been adapted to 2m frequencies by extending the whip. It is an end feed 1/2 wave that works where there isn't a good ground plane available. I found that it worked better than either a nmo 1/4 wave or a 5/8 wave when mounted on my motorcycle. I don't believe it would out perform either antenna on a car. It is durable and has worked well for me. It is made in NH, USA. If you have similar requirements you might also research GAM antennas, made in Maine. They are similar in concept, however I have no experience with them and therefore can not comment about them.

Excellent!  Time owned: more than 12 months
I bought this antenna several years ago for an indoor antenna and put its L-bracket over the end of a wooden board standing up. Worked very well. Over a year ago, I put it outside up on 15 feet of mastpipe. I am accessing repeaters up to 50 miles out using high power and feeding it with Davis 9914 low-loss cable. This antenna does an excellent job for no taller than it is. I first learned of this antenna some years back in a write-up by Gordon West in one of the magazines showing a girl talking on an HT with this antenna on it. This is made by a company that makes marine and other products and it is very high quality. Metz makes very good products. Another place where making it right in America still is held dear.
