S-l-o-w delivery and flaky engineering  Time owned: more than 12 months
I ordered a 30-500 MHz discome antenna from M2 for a special Amateur, MARS and EOC application. Discone antennas are, pretty much unity gain and are not for everyone. This was several years ago, and I hope the company has improved their social skills since that time. It took many months (and several calls) for the order to be shipped and no one there seemed to know why or when.

When the antenna -finally- arrived and I unpacked it, the first thing that I noticed was only ONE adaptor plate for mounting to another vertical mast or pipe. A 30-500 MHz discone is a BIG antenna with a lot of potential for torque and wind loading. They expected that tiny adaptor plate and hardware to hold it? That might work on a 150- or 300-MHz discone.

The antenna performs as expected though, performing similarly to a unity GP or monopole antenna across its frequency range.
