Looks Good - Works Bad  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought three of these for use at work, and had to send them back.

The presentation is great and you get a lot for your money as it includes a nice measuring antenna, handle, adaptors, cables, charger and metal carrying case.

The unit can connect to a PC via a USB port and various measurements can be made, plotted and logged with the Spectran software which is free.

The main market this unit seems to have been designed for is checking Wireless Lans for Level, Channel occupancy and Radiation limits.

The unit looks great and the quality of construction is very good. The main problem is that if you try to use it for anything else than checking Wireless Lans it does not work.

Connect a short antenna and do a sweep across the FM broadcast band or TV channels and it will not indicate signals correctly. It may find an odd one or two, but it in no way provides an accurate representation of the actual spectrum. When connected to a signal generator it still wouldn't display correctly. When running under the control of a PC with the software I felt that it was running in some sort of 'Demo mode', as sometimes it would find signals, sometimes it wouldn't. I just couldn't get repeatable results.

Various exchanges with the manufacturer consisted of them telling me that I wasn't using the unit correctly, and giving various other excuses. I finally got fed up trying to get any of the three units I bought to work correctly that I sent them back.

Not a good experience.
