Best unit I've used so far. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Repackaged the unit in a home made PVC pipe housing. I am using six re-chargeable AA batteries for power and the device will run for 50+ hours. We now hang our foxes in a tree since we had one stolen. This unit meets ALL our needs and we usually put out two or three foxes per weekend. At 20-25 feet up in a tree, these units can be heard at over six miles. Byonics knocked this one out of the park!

Easy to use and works well Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Smallest I've ever used, mine came with the USB cable, and its online software made it very brainless to program. Had to do a bit of fiddling to get the musical tones just right, but hey, this isn't exactly a musical instrument. Love that I could vary the call sign code speed and tone. Installed it in a small, plastic HF (Harbor Freight) ammo box, with a SMA-to-BNC bulkhead pigtail inside to a BNC rubber duck mounted on the outside, and even that's way too powerful. Nice, clean signal could be heard for several miles.

A lot of fun! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Well, Byonics has done it again. After they gave us their PicCon controller for hidden transmitters, they give us this jewel. Very small. Runs on a 9 volt battery and the 2 meter frequency and tone/morse ID is completely programmable.
In the West Michigan area, we now have three of these, and we have a great time throwing them in a local park and sending folks to find them.
If you get one, take a look at Joe, K0OV's website, and he recommends a LMB case # KAB-3321 to hold the transmitter. You can buy this case directly from LMB at

Buy the second unit, it is painted black, and this becomes very hard to physically locate.
After many hunts looking for cars or people, trying to find these very small black boxes tossed in to a bush becomes a real challenge.
And don't think RF goes through vegation without being affected. (and watch out for poison-ivy!)

We can see that these units will add a new dimension to traditional fox hunting.
