Still going strong Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
After almost a year the antenna still works as advertised. I have used more than one. After my good experiences with the triband model I ordered the monoband 30 meter antenna. It performed outstanding. Rated at 300 watt pep something must have happened because after a few months my meter showed a high swr. It seems that 250 watt cw is a bit to much. So the matching network was damaged.

The tribander rated at 200 watt pep is used with a portable FT-897. A very nice combination. A lot of field day test show me very good results using the antenna in a sloper setup. I use a 30ft telescopic fibre glass mast and I run the wire down to about 5ft. Small length of coax and I'm on the air.

I managed to work nice dx with this setup and only 25 watts. Signal reports are great. The antenna performs best on 20 meters being very good on 10 meters and on 40 meters about 4 to 5 dB less than a full size dipole. (If you use 20 meters of wire, the antenna will have the same gain as a full size dipole and 15 meters is added, so you have 4 bands). The loss is normal since the coil is inserted but the total length is 11,5 meters instead of 20 meters.

I can think of many different situations where you can put up this antenna. The best part: only one support to erect the antenna, no radials or rf ground and performance compared to full size dipoles. Take my word for it, you will be heard.

A lot of hams are familiar with the PAR electronics end fed dipole antennas. If you read the eham reviews, over 200 operators rate this type of antenna 5 out of 5.

PA3EKE and PA3RK took this type of antenna to the next level. It all starts with the use of first class components. Silver coated connectors, stainless steel bolts and nuts, waterproof housing and light but strong antenna wire with almost no windload and weight.

The matching network is constructed after hours of fieldtest and the use of low loss elements makes it possible to use QRO power with some models. Most antennas are rated up to 200 watts or 300 watts pep. Some monobanders can be used with legal limit power.

I'm using the triband model optimised for 40/20/10 meters. SWR is almost perfect. The antenna makes it possible to work from 28Mhz up to 29Mhz with a swr that stays below 1,2:1. On the 20 meter band the complete 350 Khz is covered with a swr of 1,1:1. Even on 40 meters I can use the antenna from 7000 to 7200 Khz with a swr that does not bypass the 1,4:1. That is al fantastic.

Performance wise the end fed dipole outperfoms all my 1/4 wave verticals. I'm using a 20,05 meter long wire so the antenna even allows 15 meter operations with increased performance on 40 meters. The feedpoint sits at 50 feet in my tower and the antenna slopes down to about 12 feet above ground. Low angle dx is possible with some small gain in the lenght of the antenne sloping down.

Side by side comparing the HyEndFed antenna against my vertical with elevated radials makes this HyEndFed antenna a very good performer and thanks to the end fed solution even more practical for outdoor and holiday use with very good results to expect.

The signals are that good that I find myself working on the HyEndFed sloper dipole more often than planned because everytime the s-meter rises when I switch to this antenna.

I've purchased the 40/20/10 meter 200 watts pep model and I'm awaiting the final results on the planned 80/40 meters model that will replace my 80/40 inverted-v dipole as soon this model can be ordered online.

Perhaps soms find it a little expensive for a wire antenna but taken into account the high quality components and the performance, I'm glad I spend the money on this antenna and nothing else.

Simply put: fantastic holyday antenna or even for a permanent station where restrictions come in to play.

Great Antenna - Better Than Expected Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Recently installed a 4 band antenna as a not-so-flat flatop at around 10m high each end and about 11m high in the middle. Feeding with 20m of RG58U.
It works as advertised - well better in my opinion. According to my rigs SWR meter (and closely followed by an MFJ analyser) the VSWR I get are as follows:
40M: 7.045 = 1:1, 7.2 = 1.4:1
20M: 14.15 = 1:1, 14.345 = 1:1
15M: 21.15 = 1.4, 21.45 = 1:1
10M: 28.31 = 1.3:1, 29.1 = 1:1
Curiously 17M and 12M are 1.9:1 anywhere. 80m is >3.0:1 as expected, but tunes up easily enough and works ok.

So far have worked a handful of DX and get good reports. It is a fairly quiet antenna. Mounting was straight forward and the strain relief is a good idea. One thing to note is that it is very light weight (but robust), so much so that it does not cause my 9M fiberglass telescopic mast to bend under the weight. Nice.

Dealing with Rob (pa3eke) was a pleasure and he kept me very informed along the way. My antenna appeared to be made to order which was nice. Shipping from EU to AU took a few weeks, but worth the wait.

You won't be disappointed with this antenna and I am considering getting another to place at 90 degrees to my current one for some added directivity.

Cheers,

Stuart

Very good 3band end-fed antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After being off the ham bands for many years I wanted to get active again, and my choice for
a multiband wire antenna was Hyendfeds product, the
200w 10-20-40 multiband antenna.
With this end-fed dipole a single telescopic mast
(Wimo) up 30 feet,as support for a sloping antenna to the roof-top of my house,at 20 ft ,was the solution to my antenna problem,my space not permitting inverted vees.
SWR on 20m was perfect.Running 5 w. from a TS480 into this antenna, using WSJT the WSPRnet map showed my sigs rx'ed in W6/California to my west and DU/Phillipines to my east, all within 10 minutes after program start. Also reported rx'ed at VK7BO ,distance 16700km.
On 10m.the SWR was as advertised , on 40 I will have to short the end a few inches for a perfect SWR.
Rob offers an option for those wanting to have 40m
as their band of preference , you will then have
full wave radiation on 20.
Quality and craftmanship is excellent, with attention to those small, but yet important details in the construction.

Btw Rob offers full return if not satisfied.
I am very satisfied with this end-fed antenna
thus my five star rating.

5 band HyendFed Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been for 4 years the happy owner of 2 par-electronics enfed antennas, the 20 and 40 meter models. But I always wanted to have a multiband endfed that would offer the same performance as the Par. Searching the other reviews, I discovered on Eham the HY END FED site in NL. After reading the comments of users about these antennas (with Google translate) and emailing few questions about the product to Rob who responded very quickly to my multiple emails, I decided to order the 5 Band end fed (Multiband 80,40,20,(15), 10). I waited few weeks to install the new antenna and I finally went up the roof the first Saturday of May 2012. The 2 Par endfed went down to be replaced with the 5 band HyEndFed. One coax, 5 bands, also tunes 18mhz and 24mhz with a tuner, performance above 1 to 2 s units compared with the Par. A little bit quieter also. The results for 80m for my location are not good as the antenna is too low for that band. I am so satisfied that I ordered a second antenna from Rob who is a pleasant person to deal with. Fast delivery, and response to emails even during the week-end.
