Great Accessory that Saves Time Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently obtained the Nifty! mini-manual for the Uniden BCD996XT scanner. With the advent of trunking scanners and Uniden's use of dynamic memory, its scanners have become increasingly complex. At the same time, Uniden has been putting more and more of its instruction materials online, a terrible move on their part.

Nifty! has come to the rescue with a mini-manual that explains all the major functions in a compact and well-made laminated manual. In reading the mini-manual I found several useful capabilities that the 996XT has that I did not know existed. I have Nifty! mini-manuals for most of my rigs, especially those that I have in the mobile or for HTs that I carry with me. It's hard to keep track of all of the features that today's complex radios have in your head, and so the Nifty! min-manual product comes in extremely handy. Their mini-manual for the Uniden 996XT is in the same tradition as their amateur rig manuals and will make the radio much more user friendly and more fun to use.
