Got my FT-2000D back from Yaesu as I suspected it was blown preamps and mixer IC total parts cost just over $13.00
Thanks NTF for wasting time and nearly $200 in shipping for you to do nothing for almost a month and tell me it couldn`t be fixed.
Never again

I sent my Yeasu FT-2000D in for repairs to what was likely blown preamps, it arrived on Oct 28th, 2011.
After approx a week I gave them a quick call to see if they had a chance to look at it, and was told not yet but would be soon, knowing they were likely busy I let it slide. When it got close to 30 days I emailed them and asked for an update as I had yet to hear from them. I was informed it can't be fixed, so I called for further clarification as to why. They had no explanation only that it couldn't be repaired. After chatting with Yaesu I thought it best to have them send it there for further checking. Again after providing details as to where and how to ship it, I waited called the next day to see if it was done only to be told they were too busy. (how hard is it to put it in a box and call the courier) so I waited 10 days before calling again, only to find out they sent it back to my home. Nearly $200 in shipping and nothing done. I don't believe they even cracked the case to look at it. Very poor customer service and I would avoid them at all cost. Now my radio is on its way to Yaesu in California so I'll update the results when I get them
