Best dipole I have ever had Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had a couple of other dipoles and this is by far the best. Only up about 30 feet in the pine trees but really works well. Only problem when it rains pine trees hold water in their bark for a few hours and swr untunable until they dry out. Use mine with a Ameritron ATR 20.

DXCC still working great! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Well I have had the DXCC up now for the past couple of months. It worked great working locally and dx on all bands 80 through 10. I recently raised it to the 50 foot level from 30 foot and had no problem working VP6DX and TX5C on first call through the pileups with just 100watts! It just keeps performing and performing. I recently lowered it to perform regular maintinance on it. I found no breaks or bad spots. Only thing needed was re-applying the sealant around the pl-259 connector. This antenna is well worth the money and I will get another one when this one finally does wear out!

Rugged & Good DX Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had the antenna installed in an extremely harsh environment. I work about 800 miles North of the Arctic Circle in Greenland. The antenna has survived wind speeds over 95 knotts and air temperatures to -50 F without any issues. We have had winds in excess of 150 knotts but that was before I bought the antenna.

I have been able to talk as far away as Australia and into South America. The contruction is very good the wire large enough guage to survive the elements.

When they say severe weather I doubt they had Thule Greenland in mind. My only regret is that I did not purchase the DX-LBPlus that would have given me 160 meters.

Still Performing Very Well!! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is a follow-up to my review three (3) years ago on October 4, 2004, posted with my then current callsign: K6RSG.

The DX-CC has been up continuously. It is now a flat top at 50' from one end to the center, with the other side sloping slightly to 40' at the end.

The performance has never wavered.

As I now also have a TS-480HX (in addition to the TS-480SAT) and the HX has no ATU, I've found the DX-CC matches the HX very well. The only exceptions being at certain freqs. on the 75-80 meter band.

As I've been working Digimodes a good amount this year (while testing Ham Radio Deluxe Digital Master 780), this has placed a demand on the antenna's ability to broadly match the HX or SAT rigs at the lower freqs on the respective bands.

The SAT quickly tunes up any mismatch with its internal ATU. However, the HX can't operate at those certain points on the band. The Antenna's design simply can't support that broad a bandwidth to cover the entire 75-80m band.

The durability has been excellent and the wear has been very nominal. The only maintenance was that wrapped the delicate Coil Wires with electrical tape as I noticed they had suffered some mild abrasion due to my letting the coil touch the asphalt roof shingles while lowering the antenna to make adjustments.

The DX-CC is exceptionally well designed and still working very well.

It remains Highly Recommended!

Excellent HF Dipole Antenna Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This is my first experience with an HF antenna. I was quite skeptical when I looked at the bag the antenna comes in. It seemed like it was just a jumble of wires that would be difficult to sort out. After reading a few reviews I decided to give it a try. My, was I surprised. First, the antenna is carefully packed with each frequency band wires tied together to keep them from getting tangled with the other frequency bands. Second, the wire gauge is great to work with. The spacers are also quite easy to install. I assembled my antenna on the ground just below where I would take it up to the roof.
I mounted the dipole on a chimney mast about 35 feet above ground level. I did find that one of the frequency bands didn’t have a very good swr number. I prepared a frequency/swr chart as mentioned in the paperwork and called Alpha-Delta for technical help. I was referred to their antenna specialist that was a huge help. After making a minor adjustment I had reduced my swr to acceptable values. I do use an antenna tuner with it now to broaden out the band coverage.
I have made contacts on 100w inside and outside the US. This was a great buy!

Not impressed Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is the first factory antenna I have bought and it is not what Alpha Delta says it is. I make my own wire antennas and thought that I would buy this one as I had heard good reports about this model and know Alpha Delta as a high quality company with good solid products.

On the plus side of this antenna it is a strong design and all the pats are well manufactured but a bit over priced for what you do and do not get. This antenna will withstand heavy icing; strong winds and falling tree branched as long as you do your part in securing it as all parts are heavy duty. It will get you on the air with good results provided you tune it with a good antenna analyzer and have an antenna tuner to use it in any of the ham bands. It is a nice short antenna for limited space or small lots.

I first got it assembled, up in the air and well secured in about an hours time. I then hooked up my antenna analyzer and found it was not below 2.3:1 on any of the advertised bands so I started to prune it which took about 4 hours to get it in the ball park on the center of 20 meters, the mid SSB area of 40 meters and relatively flat on 15 meters. This was a much harder antenna to tune then homebrewed multi wired antennas and I can only think the well built coils had something to do with it. I figured I was a lot closer then it’s factory settings and that was good enough as the auto tuner should have no problems tweaking the rest into resonance. Not to mention the sun was setting fast so I attached the coax and then to the remote antenna switch.

Once I got into the shack I switched over to it and tried it out on all the bands, the tuner was needed as without one your transmitter would surely cut back the power on 20 meters and up. However it did tune up easily on all bands with 80 meters being the exception as it was highly capacitive on 75 meters and inductive on the far end of 80 meters with it only being close to resonant at 3.706 at 1.2:1 and sharply rose over 3:1 at 3.616 on the low side and 3.749 on the upper end. As for on the air it preformed one S unit below my old back up antenna (the first one I built) which is a 104’ dipole with a 4:1 balun and coax fed. The DX-CC needed a lot more inductance and or capacitance and much more frequent tuning especially on 80 meters. It may perform better as a sloper or inverted V.

If it would have tuned close to the advertised bands or had a widder range under 3:1 I would have given it a higher rating.

Just bought another one... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Well, after having a DXCC up at my home for just about two years now.. I can honestly say I'm quite happy with the antenna. I've got mine installed at a meager 35' to the top of the inverted vee. This antenna has withstood all mother nature had to offer in that time. The antenna tunes(LDG AT200) fine on every band I've given a shot...

With field day looming in the near future, I just bought another for the "Field Day" tote I've started... Of course you can do better with a dipole cut for a specific frequency but, as for one to cover all the bases, I don't think you could do much better..

Great Antenna for All Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Forget the G5RV with it's feedline radiation. This is a resonant limited space dipole antenna for 80-10 meters. Outstanding performance on all bands. The best limited space antenna you can find, and hides very well in HOA's. The Customer Service is outstanding. Jim Burn's stands behind his product.

Excellent Antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had mine up for about 5 years and it works great, I’ve used it almost everyday. If the antenna is mostly in a straight line and up high enough the SWR for 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters will be low. The resonant portion of 80 meters is a bit limited due to loading. Its up about 35 feet and plays well. Make sure the wires are straight and correctly spaced. The materials (insulators and feed point--center insulator) are good, the wire thickness is I think about 12 gauge with a gray plastic covering. All in all a very good antenna.

Unimpressive performance on all bands Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just installed a brand new Alpha Delta DX-CC. I erected it as a flat-top dipole between two trees at a height of about 30 feet. There is adequate clearance from obstructions for the entire run of the antenna.

I chose the DX-CC after talking to a number of vendors and after reading many reviews of various horizontal wire antennas. I am sorry to say I am disappointed in the DX-CC. It seems to perform just adequately, is resonant only on 20 meters and required more assembly than I had expected. Testing with an MFJ-259 antenna analyzer showed the DX-CC to be non-resonant at most frequencies on which I wish to operate, including most of the Ham bands. On-air reports seem to confirm that the antenna is not very efficient. Although the manufacturer's literature suggests that this antenna can be used as a multiband antenna without a tuner, I would not even consider using it without a tuner.

While I cannot recommend this antenna based on my initial experiences, I will update this review after I have used the DX-CC for a bit longer.
