Review Summary For : SEI Studio Monitor Headphone/PM-2000
Reviews: 3MSRP: 89.50
Description:
The Model PM-2000 is a full-sized, Professional Studio Monitor Headphone from SEI. It contains a separate woofer and tweeter element in each ear cup. This unique design allows a dedicated reproduction of powerful sound frequencies across the full human hearing range. Factory wired for stereophonic (two channel) operation, the PM-2000 was designed chiefly for audiophiles/music lovers. Nonetheless, it lends itself well to shortwave listening and Amateur Radio applications due to the use of high-sensitivity and wide-range (natural sounding) elements. While fairly large, the PM-2000 is amazingly lightweight and well padded, providing hours of comfortable wear. Innovative engineering permits these Monitors to lay flat for low-profile storage. The single black, straight oxygen-free cable (OFC) is 9.5-feet long and extends from the Left ear cup. Handsome styling in two-tone grey with black padding, headband and cable.

Specifications:
Headband: Deep padded with nine (9) adjustable positions on each side.

Comfortable and sound great Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I got these to listen to my HF rig (both SSB and CW) and to use when listening to music on my iPod. On HF they are really do a good job and they fit well on my ears. They also are very good for listening to music for extended periods without discomfort. They offer a very good bang for the buck!

Sounds great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just recently got a pair of the headphones. They sound great connected to my receiver, as well as my ham rig.

They fit great, and are light. I have worn them for hours at a time and they are very comfortable. The twin speaker system with the woofer and tweeter reproduce sound great.

No listening fatigue, light and great for long listening sessions, and sound great.

Great sound and versatility for the money! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned one of these PM2000 coaxial headphones since 1996 and use them both for ham radio and also listening to great music, especially CDs (WOW, what a close experience music is! I can actually hear Jim Reeves wetting his lips between sentences in one song, now THAT IS SENSITIVITY AND CLARITY!). With radio, I operate exclusively phone, AM and SSB/Enhanced SSB, and enjoy both DXing and casual Ragchewing. These headphones perform very well with ham radio hearing the weakest of DX stations, provide good room-noise isolation, and really come into their own with the vocal richness heard on AM and ESSB nowadays. The softer padding over time will deteriorate, but that doesn't affect the sound or wear comfort, so these will perform for years and years with proper care. I would not subject them to weather or temperature extremes; they are definitely an indoor headphone, not for jogging, Hihi! 73, Dana W1LC
