great value for mobile radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Got this one for $149.99 from radio mart. Shipped in 3 days .its build well and heavy. I like the 3 colors of screen colors from the 30 items in the menu. Real easy to manual program it. Overall its a nice rig to get on 220mhz and fits in small areas. Great job at TYT.

Solid Radio, Good Value Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I'm running it as a base station right now to familiarize myself with the rig. I have it running into a Radio Shack VHF-UHF discone antenna at 20 ft. Despite a less than optimal antenna it does get out; I am sure the rig's +50 watts makes the difference.

The radio is intuitive to operate and the brief manual supplied is adequate.

The software is a bit rudimentary and weak. It doesn't come with setup or operating information; learning it is a matter of trial and error. But it is free and can be downloaded from the TYT website.

I plan to install the radio in my car once I figure out where. It doesn't have a remoteable head (which I am told no monobander in the market has);so, I am searching for a discrete place and way of installing the radio in the front compartment. It needs air to cool its heatsink which gets warm during long QSOs.

The fit and finish is fine and it has a lot of flexibility in terms of configuration. For example, the five program buttons (P1-P5) can be
assigned various functions by the end user. About the only thing I don't like (other than the lack of a remote-able head) is the screen color. It is
a shade of blue that isn't the best for visibility. The screen's brightness of can
be varied somewhat.

It is a good solid rig that appears to offers good value.

I hope that this rig and the soon to be released Wouxun 220 mobile get hams back on this under-used band.

Great radio for the money Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Nice solid compact radio with clean audio. Easy to read blue display. Heatsinks can get hot if long winded. Microphone feels cheap but functional. Similar size to the Alinco DR-235T and less money (New for $150 online).
