Great Audio Response and Clarity Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've owned many mics, from hand microphones, desk mics and articulated arm holder microphones and this is one heck of a mic. I am very pleased and happy to own a such an instrument that will help your audio in the ham radio world out there. It has increased my EQ's big time,I have set my audio in my Yaesu FTDX-101MP (Mode EQ) and added some simple settings, not big ones, just a little touch on the 3 band (Main EQ) on the Low,Medium, and the Highs. It made an huge big difference in the radio and my audio through the microphone coming out. I can call my friend to go on a certain band frequencies and have him hold the telephone next to the radio speaker, not too close, but close enough to hear my audio without any back feed and that I can hear my voice coming out my radio, I would (fine tune) it in my radio ( FUNC MENU's) in the 4 selections of the (FUNC) button, than hit the (Radio Setting) mode, than hit the (MODE SSB) scroll down on the right side bar and click on the (( SSB MOD SOURCE )) you'll see 50-3050Hz to 400-2600Hz, the normal setting printed in Yellow print of 100-2900hz. Pick what ever flavors that you want to sound like, either Rag chew of (50-3050 to200-2800hz)or DX in the (400-2600Hz) you'll will be amazed of the EV-320 microphone, now that's on the my Yaesu FTDX101MP other radio's will be different in it's (SETTINGS).This mic has the famous EV design,it may be the cheapest of the 3 mics made, but not the quality it produces in this model,it has the Variable-D dynamic vocal & instrument microphone elements, that is why the EV microphones are longer in size. When you talk in the mic softly, you'll can hear your audio signal at the same level,if you yell at it or talk loudly, you'll have the same audio level,To me it's like a compression cushion and keeps your audio from over spiking your audio.Anyways,if all your settings are placed right, you should be able to have one of the best studio sounding audio coming out from your radio and be proud of the articulated frequencies that it produces, they will hear a great audio coming out from you. I'm keeping this one......

A Studio mic also great for ham audio Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I use a RE-320 in my studio for Voice-Overs and a weekly radio show. I have used an Electro-Voice EV-638 for years and always got great audio reports. I decided to try it on my Kenwood TS-850S and got excellent audio reports. I purchased a second RE-320 to use on my rig and as a second mic in my studio. Sometimes available new on EBay for under $200 and may be a worthwhile investment for your transmit audio.

Great Microphone Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I received this RE-320 from Sweetwater last week and have made several contacts. I set the EQ in my K3S very middle of the road and have gotten excellent reports. I did a lot of research before I retired my Heil in favor of this EV. The thing that put me over the top was hearing one on air. Very articulate and understandable. I also like the fact you can be somewhat off axis and it doesn't attenuate. If you want a great mic I would highly recommend an EV.

6-21-2020 Update: I've had the Mic for a little over a month now and have made a number of contacts with a few unsolicited good audio reports. I have also had unsolicited compliments on my audio not once but twice from DX stations I worked while they were working a pile-up. This has never happened to me before and I've got to say I was surprised the first time and even more so the second time. Great mic and to me it's worth the expense.

Best mic a ham can buy! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The RE-320 is a professional microphone and there is just no comparison to any ham mike! The price is the killler. Often these can be found for $150 to $200 on the used market and I can't figure out why anyone would sell one. The thing that makes it so good is that little, well hidden, switch called the "kick drum" switch. The switch provides a rise in the response at around the 2K which many hams understand is the part of the voice spectrum that provides clarity and makes you just plain sound good. Makes a kick drum sound good too! They also designed the body of the microphone to control "proximity" effect for guys who tend to crawl up on the mic. Buy of one of these and experience what a real microphone is like! ... and it's also good for chapped lips!

Exelent mic for the price! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Great frequency response , looks awesome on the shack , great unsolicited audio reports , Exelent when used with an audio rack for ( ESSB ) and Awesome build quality from Electro Voice . I use mainly with a symetrix 528E , Behringer EX 3200 the Voodoo box , symetrix 421m AGC leveler in 3k or 4k with exelent results and performance is super! Its price point is good and also will help your dx with the filter that rolls the base off for stunning dx audio. its a keeper!

Fantastic mic Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have been running Heil mics for many years and this was my first departure from that.

As much as I like Heil, this mic is in a totally different class. It was a little front heavy for my Heil shock mount so I purchased a EV mount which worked fine. Audio reports were excellent and guys I regularly talked to noted the improvement right away.

No doubt the best mic I have owned. Not saying there is not better out there but for the price its hard to beat.

Its a well build mic and very nice looking.

Outstanding Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My EV RE320 continues to elicit great audio reports. I suggest you use the hi-end boost on the microphone body to give your signal punch in high-noise conditions.

Incredible sound with a nice peak around 3 KHz. Fits my voice well. I purchased as a package deal from BSW, including shock mount, boom hardware, and an anti-pop screen.

Friends noticed my audio immediately without prior warning, saying "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR AUDIO!?? Philip, you've never sounded this good."

Prior to acquiring the RE-320, I was using a decent Shure SM-58.

The EV-320 is a great microphone.

Great performer and good looking! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I had heard several RE320's on the air and they all sounded great so I ordered one. I was using a Heil PR-22 which was working very well but wanted something different and loved the look of the 320.

Between the 2 no one could tell the difference in numerous A/B tests, both always got very good audio reports.

But the 320 won out only because I like dthe way it looked in the shack.

The kicker is always getting unsolicited great audio reports, even more meaningful when DX gives you these reports as you know you are getting their attention and they are taking time out of their run to tell you so.

Setup is the 320 straight into a Yaesu FTDX5000MP, of course with the proper EQ in the 5000 and good compression.
