This wonderful hard-cover book features photographs, and brief descriptions of U. S.-made Amateur Wireless equipment built from about 1930 to 1980. If you are at all interested in "boat anchors" you must have this book. All the photos are in black and white and all the examples pictured are pristine--no dirty old receivers, with paint/knobs missing, etc. are to be seen anywhere! Marvellous.

I can only find one, or two things about which to complain. Mr. Veras lists the Collins R-389 to 392 series of receivers, and the Hammarlund SP-600 as "wartime" receivers. This is not correct as these receivers were produced in the late 1940's and early 1950's. And where is the "Collins" R-390A?--the best-known of the '390-series. I couldn't find it anywhere!

Nevertheless, a wonderful book compiled by Mr. Joe Veras with the help of many others. Recommended.
