Defective design			Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The kit does not work when assembled according to the supplied specs, the only thing you will see is blank LCD screen. It needs to be modified in the following ways in order to become functional: 1) Supplied version of the Reed Relay in the kit comes without a catch diode installed, so diode needs to be purchased separately and installed in the PCB across the coil. 2) Reed Relay needs to be decoupled from RA1 (Pin 18) via a transistor to avoid PIC damage. PIC can handle only 25 mA, Reed Relay pulls in more. 3) Supplied PIC comes programmed with a code-protected software that does not work. It is impossible to read/debug it. So I had to erase it and load a different version of the firmware that I found on the internet and modified. Now it works. Bottom line -- be prepared to invest lots of hours, if not days, in making it work. If your already have it and wrestle with it, send me an e-mail. Art VE3MWA

It arrived with a missing cap. The box is completely useless. They don't answer emails. It works though. I wish I read this before ordering: http://www.eham.net/reviews/review/74738
