Great Program! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using Log4OM for better than 4 years now! Fantastic program! I have it intergraded with a Flex 6600 and Yaesu FTDX10. Does a great job running multiple radios! It works seamlessly with PST Rotator as well as WJST for FT8. They are always adding great updates to the software! I find it very user friendly and includes comprehensive documentation when needing to look up a specific task! I was a user of HRD for over 7 years and found this to be a less complicated logging software to use and setup. I enjoy using all the functions of this program! I would highly recommend this to you!

Great program, great people writing and helping Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have used this program for many years now and it gets better and better. The help and attention you receiver from Terry is world class!! I have two transceivers and my rotator all integrated with the program and I have been very happy with it. I also use it remotely. I
support their efforts ($$) but the program is free to download and use.
DANIELE has done a great job and is a very attentive developer and software writer. I don't know where he finds the time to keep going with this program, but I am glad that he does.

No VUCC award Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Down below is my review of 2021.
Meanwhile, VUCC award stats are still not there . Also, the blue GRID boxes are not working.
There is no way to add decoded callsigns to the frequency map, a basic function for any CW operator.

Poor forum moderation.

2021 Review:
One of the basic Ham radio awards is VUCC. This award is lacking in Log4OM.
The "Log4OM Alpha team" even does not know what it is untill someone told them about it on the forum.
The Log4OM response "you can add it yourself" is the best they can do.
To my knowledge, no one succeeded.
1- The process is incredibly complicated.
2- The help file on award management is completely incomprehensible and written in some kind of Italian English.

Excellent product and the price is right Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I’ve used this program for over 3 years and it has been a great experience. It has prediction models for propagation, great logging, integration with WSJT, FLDIGI AND N1MM.
Terry has some good instructional videos as well as other folks.
As has been pointed out, it is FREE but the developers will take contributions. It is certainly a great help to me.
Thanks so much for this.

With thanks for a great logbook Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I had DX Base for a long time and was wary to make a change, but it was getting longer and longer in the tooth without significant update. In the end, with much trepidation and some great help from Terry, G4POP (a total gent) I made the jump. I love it, it works really well and integrates with JTDX and my radios as I always wanted, lotw, Clublog - it's all interconnected. What a fantastic logbook from a great team - very happy and I am sure if you had it you would be too. For me, it's the last word in logbooks.

The perfect LOG Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Log4OM is arguably the best logging software out there today. With version 2 it has gained not only in looks but also in how it functions. It is continuously updated. Daniele, Terry and the other guys are very present and reactive in solving problems.
Its strengths:
- no scattered windows ... all in one
- rig control with omnirig and full compatibility with programs that support it
- fully customizable built-in cluster
- updated data on propagation
- instant lookup
- rotor control
- logbook with numerous filtering possibilities
- customizable contest mode
- compatible with winkeyer
- possibility of third party control through UDP interface
and much more to discover. Try it.

Great piece of software Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was a happy user of BBLogger but the program had not received updates for quite some time. I decided to look for other loggers. I needed a full-featured program that allowed me to have a complete log, CAT, maps, and propagation prediction. Also, a user-friendly logger easy to use in pileups. I tested several programs starting from Ham Radio Deluxe last version. It is a real nice program but the learning curve is not that great, at least for me. I STUDIED the manual and managed to have it running. I had several problems with the digital DM780 freezing after 30seconds. Also the awards managed are real few. I like it but never became friends. I turned into DXLab suite. I loved that program even though the layout is a bit "old-fashion". It took me some time to set it up but once ready, it was a great software, very complete. My main concerns were on: 1) too many windows, hard to deal with if you have one monitor, 2) I have never liked the Spot Collector. It was surely my fault but never used effectively. 3) A bit slow with the log management with 20k+ qsos. I had to turn it down. In the meantime my QSL manager had several problems with HRD and he asked me a software that was in Italian. I found LOG4OM. Even though the software is in English , the "forma mentis" behind this software is Italian and the manual also. What I mean is that some software are more suitable if created by someone with the same background and way of thinking. Several EU stations found hard to get into HRD software for example. Anyway, he installed LOG4OM and after a week or so he dropped me a note saying he was real happy and satisfied. So I wondered why I was suggesting a software and I had not given a try. My main issue was importing my logs and the learning curve. BEFORE installing the software I downloaded the manual and read in one night. THEN I installed the software and STUDIED the manual. FINALLY I setup the software with the manual handy. Result? The software worked flawlessly.

I personally love the general layout and all the main features handy. It is like operating with a big radio with all the knobs and buttons instead of fighting with menus all the time (my experience with the FT-891 docet). The program is very intuitive and everything is at your disposal in one window. I really love the way you can visualize the station info, the pic of qrz.com and the chart about the contact situation by call, nation, band and mode. Also the cluster and smartcluster (supercluster) is an interesting feature that allows accessing to more details. The cluster section provides a filter by mode, band, possibility to exclude FTx freq, worked stations, spot origin and the bearing from your station. This is something excellent when you want to have the situation based of the direction. Let us assume you have an antenna fixed to the east. Filtering the East Beam direction only those stations at your East will be showed. Another interesting feature is the reliability threshold filter. You can choose how reliable is the chance you have to qso with a station based on the present propagation. It is not that useful to know there is a Chinese station on 6 meters when you are in the US and there is no propagation towards that country. I set the threshold to 40%, which is a fair percentage to work a station. This filter will show me only the stations with 40% or more chances to qso. That is cool, believe me. Take the time to visit LOG4OM home page to see all the features it has. Rotator control, advanced UDP management, full integration with FLDIGI, JTDX,WJST, N1MM and many others. The contest interface is another pleasant gift given by the creator. Although it is not a fully featured interface it is great for casual contesters like me. There is a variety of contests supported that suits me 95% of my contest activity. Do I want to participate more seriously? I will turn to N1MM. By the way LOG4OM integrates with N1MM. Winkeyer is fully supported and the solar data graphs and predictions are at your disposal with a click. I cannot say much on the printing section as my manager handles my qsl. I love the chat idea that enables me to have contacts with stations online.

Is LOG4OM free from problems? No, it is not. I dare anybody mentioning one software which is perfect. Can it be enhanced, improved and fixed? Yes, it can. But Daniele IW3HMH and his crew work really hard on this project. I forgot to mention Terry and the team who contently give a A+ support on the forums.

I smile slightly when I read a low rate only because there is not a certain award handled. That is simply unfair. It would be like to downgrade a restaurant on TripAdvisor only because the place does not have a window on a park. Do you like to check and apply to the Award of the wild goats of Machu Picchu? Get yourself into the Award Manager and build it yourself..

Something I do not like about the program? No, actually. I may say the Italian manual is a bit confusing and may be improved. The voicekeyer has some problems with my Yaesu, but not a big deal.

Did I forget something? Uhmm..let us see… oh yes, I forgot to mention, the program is completely FREE!

Gentlemen, if we calculate the innumerable hours at coding, testing and supporting, I am convinced we ought to be grateful to Daniele & Co. Chapeau to them.

By those who wonder if I am part of the crew, the answer is no, I am not. Not paid nor asked to write this review. I am just grateful for a great piece of software. Well done guys, keep up the great work.

New version released. Great! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The newest revision 1.23.0 has just been released. The new additions are welcomed, although you have to hunt around in order to locate most of them.
The user manual needs to be revised incorporating these additions.

Over the years I have tried just about every logging program out there, including the free ones and the pay for use ones. This one is free and actively supported by the developer. Everything that can be said has been said in these reviews so I won't repeat all that here. If you haven't at least tried this wonderful logging program then you are really missing out on something special. Download and install it today. Import you present log's .adif file. Connect the CAT interface to your favorite radio and PC and it's ...up, up and away!!!

Windows Defender identifies "severe" malware/Trojan viruses Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have twice attempted to install log4OM. Each time Windows Defender identified "severe" malware with Trojan viruses contained within this application. At the log4OM website, others have reported the same results from attempted installations. At least one person scanned his computer with bitdefender and was able to identify and remove the virus contained within log4OM.exe My advice would be to discontinue with the installation of log4OM if your computer identifies log4OM.exe as containing viruses. Let's hope that log4OM identifies the cause of the virus identification. In my opinion, Disabling your security software to allow installation to proceed is not a solution.
