	Description: A man pack portable ground plane antenna with three counterpoise elements that droop at 140 degrees and a center radiating element. Included in the kit is 30 feet of mast sections, base plate, stakes, rope and all the hardware to erect the antenna. The frequency range is nominally 20 to 76 mhz, adjusted by the numbers of elements used at assembly time. The power handing limit is not specified but judging by the large size of the ceramic insulator, full legal power for hams would not be unreasonable. The full pack with 100' of RG-8 and the hammer weighs ~50 pounds.

Picked up cheap			Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I picked this up at a yard sale for 25 dollars.Hope to use it with my PRC-10,PRC-6,PRC-77 radios .It didn't come with any antenna elements AB-21 through 24,But i had some AS-116 elements that use the same thread but are longer.I have decided to make a bushing for the vertical as well as the ground plain elements that way i'll be able to use stingers from hamsticks to be able to adjust to resonance for 6 meters,10 meters and hopefully all the way to 17 meters by stacking MS-116s to get the length I need for these bands? see my youtube video in the future.Jim KB1PFL

Surprisingly good at DX			Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought this many years ago at a local Hamfest. I used it a bit, and then went into a long lull of ham activity and let my license expire :( (was WD4ITH). I remembered I still had this and dug it out and set it up. I have been shocked how well it works. I have worked stations in eastern Europe and into the far end of south America with it. It tunes very broad as you might suspect with no traps or loading coils. Set with all the sections in the elements (20 mhz) it works on 17M and 15M and with a little help from the tuner 12M. But if you take an element out it tunes on 12M better and 10M. And of course you can set it to 6M too. All in all a real handy unit for portable and not so portable operation. Heck I might scrounge up another now and have a full field day set up, 17 and 15 meters on one vertical and 10 and 12 on the other and a 80,40,20 dipole strung between. 73's
