EXCELLENT Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just bought my second Motorola DMR/MOTOTRBO XPR 4550. Both are UHF 45 watt versions. One in the house and one in the vehicle. They are superb. Had both programmed by a friend. Radio is both Analog and Digital. Using the "remote kit" allowing the drawer unit to be stored out of site, while the control head is at my finger-tips (mobile). Great audio with the built in speaker. If you are interested in digital radio (DMR/MOTOTRBO IS NOT D-STAR or P-25) and there is a DMR repeater in your area (DMR Repeaters are now listed in the 2014-15 ARRL Repeater Directory), you should look into this. Radios go for around $400, plus or minus.

GREAT RADIO FOR DMR/TRBO Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been using this radio for a few months now to talk to my ham friends all over S. Florida. A great radio to get on the amateur DMR/TRBO systems to talk all over the state, country, or the world, & more repeaters are coming on line all the time. Easy to use, & works great. DMR is an open format that anybody can use, unlike others that have a patent, & only one company can make the equipment. GARY N4KVE
