super for roving! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Have 1296 and 2304 models. Both work as advertised, are very small. I added a cheap WiFi 5w/12VDC bidirections amp for 2304 for $50 and the whole package is tiny, has very good performance and needs no PTT or other control lines, no sequencing, no odd voltages--it just works!

Great transverter ! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The transverter comes housed in an aluminium box Small and light enought to
be fitted at the focus of any TVSat offset dish close to the iluminator

It is a real Plug&Play device. Just connect the provided power cord to 12V
Attach the FI rig using BNC cable and the antenna to the SMA connector, That's all
No PTT line required. No external coax relay nedded. There is an internal RF
detection circuit with delay to work SSB easily

The same day I received the transverter just attached a 2.4GHz Wi-fi grid dish
and made first QSOs over a 120Km path with EA6 (Ibiza island). The 500mW are enought
power for most QSOs. If more power needed there is a 5w PA+Rx-amp available
and plug&play compatible with this transverter

There is a choice of FIs available and I ordered it with 144MHz FI. Later on I
realized that 144 is not a good idea as FI. Local traffic, specially APRS can
be an issue. There is also a big problem if you operate it on a field day close to
other micro wavers. You soon discover that everybody is making QSOs at the FI
in 144.200. And what is worse, the mixer image falls just into the European UMTS band
So there is a big chance of getting QRM by the cell phone base stations
Last but no least, when using 144 also as talkback frequency there is a big chance
to forget turning the power down again to <5w when connecting the transverter ! :(

So I sent it back to manufacturer to change it to a 51MHz FI. Now the problems are all
solved and I can connect it directly to the HF+6M output of my FT857 leaving the
144/432 output free to run full power directly to the V/UHF antenna

Good stability and sensitivity. Really recommended to those who don't want to kit
everything or DIY to start in microwaves
