Awesome Book Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I’ve purchased, read, and built antennas based on the 3rd and 4th edition of this book, which have somewhat different content (yagis vs. verticals). Book has a wealth of interesting and entertaining DX and contesting history, technical antenna design, and nuggets from Tom’s hard-won experience. His vertical designs are great for folks with limited space or HOA restrictions. He’ll show you how to make compact vertical arrays that work very well indeed. Hats off to Tom Schiller. I can’t recommend these books enough.

Interesting Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This review is coming from a ham with almost 50 years of ham radio experience. I purchased my book from Tom at a convention for $30.00. The book is well worth the price with almost 300 pages, full of interesting information on a wide variety of antennas and installation.

The book is easy to read and fast moving with lots of pictures and charts to show and explain what is being said in writing.

There are many interesting statements that other antenna manufactures would not state, compare and share with the ham community.

If you like antennas, like building antennas, and just want to get smarter on how antennas work.... buy the book!

Must read for both starters and seasoned antenna builders Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This book is about very relevant basic and in depth information on antennas of all kinds, the Do's and Don'ts, the 'What Really Matters' , What to expect, etc..etc..

Many years of experience is shared in a fair and straight way.
It offers relevant information, which experienced antenna builders recognize but is never published anywhere else

For starters in Hamradio; this is what you do NEED to read first.

For seasoned antenna-builders; this clarifies stuff you were uncertain about but also verifies many of your findings!

A Must Read Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've completed this book and all I can say is WOW - it is one of the most important technical reads ever. The book answered so many questions - all practical, all real world. For example, I always wondered what the A3S specification meant "5 dB". Now I know. I also had questions about several mechanical details regarding designing and building my own yagis. Again - BINGO. This book is a must for anyone who designs and / or builds their own antennas - or just where you want to really understand how your store bought antenna works.

I am in the process of designing and building a 4 element 20M mono band OWA yagi on a 24' boom. I've also been toying with instead, building a multi-band yagi - and this book gives me some idea what is involved with that effort - from design to build.
