-ISOpwr turns OFF when the alternator is off and the car’s battery has fallen below 12.7 volts.
-All solid state. FET switch. No relays. Handles up to 40 amperes. Input fuse 40 A.
-Works safely with all types of 12-volt lead-acid batteries, Flooded Lead Acid, Gelled & AGM.

Good truck system Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After experiencing truck battery drawdown when operating my dual-band radio after shutting off the engine, I installed the ISOPwr unit with a 33 Ah AGM cell. Works great. Alternator runs the radio while driving & charges the AGM cell. Within seconds of shutting off the engine, the unit switches to the AGM cell & I keep operating while protecting the trucks's battery. 33 Ah is adequate to permit all-day operation of my radio, if needed. I stacked everything in a plastic storage bin behind the seat & rigged everything using PowerPoles & red/black cables & fuses. The bin is well ventilated & heavy enough so it stays in place behind the seat. Adding in a small Watt's Up meter lets me monitor power consumption on the AGM cell.

Install it and forget it Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I used one of the ISOpwr modules instead of the buit-in circuitry for charging and auxiliary battery that is provided in my 2010 Suburban. I use the voltage measuring capability of my radios for monitoring the auxiliary battery voltage. With this all solid-state design, there are no worries over relays failing or sticking. All circuits are terminated in PowerPole sockets and are fused.
