| Workhorse paddle for shack and field use |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
While I bought the Adventure Mono for field use, it’s first 6 months spent dual duty in the shack. The magnetic base option is quite useful and very sturdy. It was my primary paddle when I was laid up for 8 weeks recovering from a foot surgery. The action is simply amazing (not as good as the HST, but predictable and smooth).
It lives in my KX2 bag and I don’t baby this at all.
I did get something in the contacts at one point, but I was able to blow it out and all is well.
I was initially worried about the mag base being too big and bulky for the bag, but I’ve left it on pretty much since I got it and only used the KX2 and KX3 brackets a few times. I have a custom flight board with a steel plate epoxied to it, the mag mount holds beautifully.
If you are on the fence, get it, life’s too short for regrets.

| My little diamond |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
| For work on the air, I only use the telegraph key. Therefore, having a good key is very important. My KX-3 transceiver uses the Key designed for this . Very poor job and not comfortable at all. I have been looking closely at the Begali keys for a long time, but their price has always frightened off. One day I nevertheless decided to buy. Wrote a message and soon got a response from Bruna. During the ordering process, I talked a lot and always received detailed answers. Such an attentive attitude towards the customer is always pleasant. For the purchase, I chose the Adventure MONO key, KX-3 bracket and Magnetic Desktop base for working from home. After 2 weeks I received the long-awaited package. Everything is packed perfectly, very securely. Base, key and mounting bracket. As a gift, I received a Microfiber cleaning cloth for taking care of the key and a Special Hand made Begali Coaster, all with the Begali brand logo. The manipulator itself is great! Small size, it weights 80 grams… this is what you need to work in the field. Excellent metalworking and assembly, you can feel the work of the master. On the same day I tested the key in operation, participated in a local test. It is a great pleasure to work on it, precise work. You can adjust the pressure and gap to suit your needs. I just relaxed the pressure a little, I'm so comfortable. I didn't touch anything else. Light, barely audible clicking of contacts during manipulation like music, caresses the heart))) Now the Begali key is a decoration of my radio shack, this is my little diamond!)). Treat yourself and enjoy the experience of owning your Begali ! |

| Fantastic Portable Key |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
I have the Begali Sculpture Mono and HST III, and have become such a single lever paddle enthusiast that I sold all other keys that I had.
I've just added this Adventure Mono, and its an amazing piece of machinery. It sits perfectly attached to my KX-3 (with the KX-3 mounting bracket), and stays perfectly still and as others have mentioned - level to the desk for a perfect "fit" for keying. It looks like a masterpiece and looks great on the rig.
The quality and feel for such a small key is as good as I could imagine it can be - another home run by Begali. |

| A good key, yet.... |
Time Owned: 6 to 12 months. |
This is my third Begali key, the first 2 being the Simplex Pro and the Spark which are great. I have this Adventure Mono for almost a year now and I have used it to practice keying and QSO.
The quality and craftsmanship of the key is top notch, a very well made masterpiece.
However, some minor issues affected the rating on this occasion that I cannot give it a 5.
1) the tension screw is a black colour screw instead of a gold colour screw as shown in the website;
2) the key had a short circuit after a few days try out. Communications with Bruna was prompt though not immediate. Eventually, I sorted it out myself and found that it was a loosely attached thin hair wire from the cable short-circuited the key. It is now working properly.
The key itself is simply great but the changes in the colour of the tension screw and the experience of the short circuit, I have to give it a 4 on this occasion. |

| Excellent Key |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
| I purchased this key along with the mounting bracket for my KX3. I have used it for about a month now, and it is outstanding. The quality and workmanship from Begali is amazing. This key is as smooth as silk. A great feature is that you can swing the key to the left or right and lock it down in your favorite operating position. It doesn't point down like the Elecraft paddle, it sits parallel to the table and feels much more natural. I would recommend this key to anyone. |

| Outstanding |

| I have the Adventure Mono, the desk base, and both the FT-817 and KX3 mounts. They are wonderfully made and I've always thought Begali's craftsmanship results in a mechanical work of art and this key is no exception. It is hard to verbally explain the fine miniature structures, or how they come together is such a nice little package. Visit Begali web site for some great pictures. I needed to wait a bit for the FT-817 mount so have used the desk base now for a while with my KX3. It is smooth as silk and performs as well or better then other single lever paddles I own. I also tried setting the KX3 to "Hand" key mode and I can then use either side for sending as a SK, I tried my index finger on one side and my thumb on the other - I found using my thumb to send CW actually worked very well. So in /p you would really only need the Mono for either keyer or SK mode sending. I received both the 817 and KX3 mount today, which are well made. Installed the KX3 mount, and with the Nifty KX3 holder Elecraft sells as an accessory for the KX3, the radio sits slanted toward me for easy viewing and control, while the Begali Adventure Mono rides underneath with paddles oriented for perfectly situated use. |

| A New Era in Portable Paddles |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
| I expected the tiny Adventure Mono to be good. I didn't expect it to compete with Begali's own best paddles. With this and its Adventure sibling, we can now carry a beautifully-engineered paddle to a SOTA summit. By adding the optional Adventure Magnetic Base, this paddle can sit comfortably and honorably in the finest home stations as well as in backpacks. Return-force adjustment is a breeze with a single accessible finger-screw. Since the Adventure Mono is more complex than the Adventure, contact-space adjustment requires both a twist of the gold-plated vertical stanchion and also tweaking of two stainless-steel side screws, for which a fingernail twist does fine. In spite of the small overall size of the whole paddle, the non-metallic fingerpieces are large enough to be paddled in winter wearing mittens. How can Pietro Begali top this masterpiece? It's pricey, but definitely worth every euro. |

| ne plus ultra !! |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
I, too, had the opportunity to 'test drive' the Adventure Mono prototype for several days. At that time I could not imagine how it could be improved. Today, I received my production Adventure Mono. In its final form it is indescribably beautiful! The paddle feels wonderful. The fingerpieces are very, very comfortable with great spacing and the height above the table when using the desk mount is perfect. The combination of colors and tones among the black, stainless, and gold parts are extremely appealing. The range of adjustment is seemingly infinite. Attached to the KX3 and swiveled 45 degrees to the right, the Adventure Mono is in exactly the right position to provide comfortable operating. It's nice to be able to have the KX3 sitting *straight* with the paddle tilted vs. having to place the whole KX3 at an angle in order to operate the KXPD3 paddle. The desk mount is finished in a very classy matte black. It's very easy to transfer the Adventure Mono between KX3 mount and desk mount. The desk mount turns the paddle into a real sweet "can do it all" product which I can use with any and all of my radios. Serious paddle whackers might want to run out to Home Depot and buy a nice piece of steel. Prime it, paint it flat black, glue some non-skid shelf liner on the bottom to protect your desk and let the magnetic desk mount grab it. You won't have any trouble with a "walking paddle." I've run out of superlatives at this point, so lest I babble on, let me just say that Piero Begali has once again raised the bar.

| Single Lever Top Dog |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
| I was fortunate enough to get my hands on early prototypes of both, the single lever and the dual lever versions of the Adventure, and I was blown away then. The production versions of these keys have taken it one notch further, hard as that was to imagine. Made from stainless steel, gold plated components, using solid gold contacts, no corners were cut. The ingenious mechanism with three interacting levers provides a clearly defined center position, and the contact spacing and magnetic tension are finely adjustable. Although the dual-lever version is the primary weapon of choice for my KX3, this key might yet convert me to single lever operation. |
