Exceeds expectations! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I’ve only had this antenna for about twelve hours but I cannot anticipate being any less pleased. I also ordered the mounting bracket. It arrived on my doorstep just in time for me to slap it together and install on my 25-foot tilt-over mast, which took 15 minutes, to check in to the Northwest Missouri 2 meter SSB net. NCS is 150 miles to my southeast. I had previously QSOd with him on a dipole, but it was rough copy on my end, in spite of his very kind signal report to me. (He has stacked 12-elements on 18 foot booms on a tower.) Anyway, I was quite blown away by the difference in reception; NCS is now armchair copy. I do not believe there was any special propagation enhancement; time will tell.

The antenna came extremely well-packaged in vacuum-sealed plastic. It was very satisfying to open. It assembles and mounts easily with zero tools required. Reversal is equally simple, and it packs into a light, neat bundle back into the thick plastic package it ships in, if you’re careful to make a small cut in the top to open it.

The antenna itself is beautifully made. I love the purple-anodized arrow shaft elements!

I ordered this antenna hoping for a minimal improvement to my VHF SSB station on an as-needed basis. My expectations have been exceeded by far!

Excellent 'PORTABLE' Antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
For portable operation, this is an excellent choice. Breaks down into a lightweight, compact package for transport. This is not an antenna for a permanent installation. Gain and directivity seem to be good. I would purchase again.

No data on mast size accomodated Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
OK, this antenna works great BUT....
The manufacturer give NO data on the maximum mast size that the mounting bracket will accomodate. Cmon, if you mount this on a tower you have a 2 inch mast. Guess what??? the mount supplied will Not accomodate more than 1-3/4... How lame is that? Cmon only someone mounting it on a push up mast can use this antenna. I was very, very dissapointed...
At least print the specs on your website so we know before we buy one and then have to fabricate our own mounting plate...
gimme a break,

2m surprise Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The antenna is well designed but falls short in the thin aluminum material choice. The truth is I live close to the ocean, and the aluminum, threaded screws, boom, and endcaps have turned to powder. Even the mast to boom clamp has fixed the wing nuts. All in 12 months. If you purchase, be sure to to avoid a permanent location and discuss with the manufacturer ways of prolonging the paper thin elements, clamps, nuts, threads and the list goes on.

A Nice Antenna Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I purchased the 146-4 portable antenna from Arrow Antennas, for SSB weak signal work in the field. This is one of four antennas I have purchased from Arrow and it proved to be as excellent in quality and workmanship as any of the other Arrow antennas I have. Until I was able to upgrade to a more permanent antenna installation, I mounted this antenna and used it daily. The antenna performs flawlessly, with signals previously not discernible or at noise level, instantly recognizable with an increase of 2-3 S units. Every station I regularly work in my early morning SSB weak signal net commented on the improved signal. The antenna breaks down into a very small package for portable/back country use. This is a top quality product that will be serviceable for a long time. The machining is precise and the materials top notch. Tim, the owner of Arrow Antenna is pleasant and immediately responsive to any inquiry. I will continue to use Arrow Antenna products wherever I find need of an affordable, high quality antenna in the VHF/UHF spectrum.
