I like it Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It's ham radio so I like it. not always what I do most, but it works for me. To many ham radio mags, stores and even hamfests have gone away because we as a comunity don't support them anymore. So as I said, I like it.

Gone and Forgotten Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After subscribing for many years, have let it expire this time. Meager content. It has been a shame to see such a decline in what used to be a fine read.

I subscribed years ago, principally for what was a good QRP column. Not now, nothing but contests ad nauseam. I genuinely feel for folks who only have weekends to operate and have to contend with a contest in every mode, every Saturday and Sunday.

Not a contesMainstay in Ham Radio Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Come on guys! I am a casual contester but still enjoy reading the articles and enjoying the ads in CQ. CQ has been around for 60 years covering our hobby. Its fun to see articles that cover the spectrum from DX to crystal sets.

Also, CQ supports an awards program for Dx'ers and County hunters.

It is great to get another viewpoint with ham issues.

It is what it is Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I think that CQ Magazine is great if you're into contesting. The magazine is about contesting and it does it very well. I'm only a very small pistol constester, but I enjoy seeing not only my results in print when I enter a contest, but also what my fellow competitors have done. Like others, I don't purchase the magazine on a regular basis, but when I see something in the magazine that interests me I buy it.
CQ may not be for everyone, but it is what it is.

To much contesting articles Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Was at the radio shop, picked up a copy of CQ,
not much in there other than contesting results,
etc,,etc. I occasionaly buy a copy, maybe one this year and the store owner gave me the other
copy. I won't subscibe to the mag again, just buy
an issue at the store " if " there is something
of interest to me.
I would think their mag sales person, the one
involved in trying to increase subscriptions surely has a difficult job these days,73's

If you take out the contest info from CQ magazine, there's be nothing left. Actually, if most of the actual contests were eliminated, HAM Radio itself would be 100% improved. Why promote an operating style that alienates most of (majority) the other operators? Limit contests to the number or maybe confine them to a narrow frequency range (5 kHz should be enough, all they ever do is call CQ on top of each other anyway.) To sum it up, CQ offers no reason for me personally to buy it at all. I do however miss the old HAM RADIO magazine that CQ swallowed up.

ok Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I used to get it for over ten years but didn't get enough out of it to keep subscribed. I check it out in the store and if I fine something I really want to read I buy it. In 3 years I doubt if I bought 3 mags.

Contest rag Time Owned: N.A.
I have a suggestion for CQ. Get rid of the contest junk, even your own poll (CQ'S) sometime ago noted less than 2% of hams list contesting as their first priority. CQ, you make to many hams mad with your contests with fewer than 5000 hams partipating ( thats how many logs are sent in for the CQ worldwide contest). Why not get back to the days of really having articles about radio and not the use of radio and making 2006 the last year for the CQWW QRM mess..

Don't miss it Time Owned: N.A.
For years I got CQ as the price was right about $10 a year thru my agent.
AT the list price I dropped it and stop at Borders to see if I am missing anything. So far not much. I do see something which might require a few minutes of my time to read.
I did buy a copy to read on a flight I was taking. Read all I was interested in while waiting to load and take off. Too bad it use to be agood magazine.
