Not worth reading Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I remember the CQ of old and how I enjoyed it. I remember when Wayne Green W2NSD was editor. Under Green the mag was full of great and interesting articles and once in awhile there would be an Annual Issue that was about three times regular size.
I subscribed for years and gave CQ up because of the lack of good articles. This past week I was in a ham store and got a copy to see if it had improved. No such luck, it was devoid of anything worth reading.
So long CQ! The only way I'll be reading you is one of the old copies I have in my storage shed.

Too little to offer Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I pick up a very occasional issue if there is an article of interest, but that's it, and that hasn't happened in a long time. I think of it this way - better to spend my cash on subscribing to magazines with more and better content on a more reliable basis and which are NOT on the local bookstores' shelves. If I want the odd copy of CQ, I know where to find it.

OK, but VERY expensive Time Owned: more than 12 months.
CQ is a good magazine, usually provides a good read with some interesting articles. As another reviewer has said, it's become more of a contestor's magazine now. The biggest negative is the cost, $36 a year is WAY too much for a magazine subscription. I've been a subscriber for about 6 years and when this one runs out later this year, i won't be resubscribing.

Dave Ingram made it a "5" Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My "5" is to Dave Ingram and his great QRP and CW columns.

The only reason I ever purchased CQ. Looked through it at the magazine rack. If Dave was in it, it was purchased.

Had the pleasure of a recent CW QRP contact him.

Used to be a good Ham mag Time Owned: more than 12 months.
CQ used to be a good alternative to QST. QST had the best construction articles and then CQ and 73 had the rest. I used to look forward to some good construction articles in the annual Antenna and RTTY issues. Now its just a (mostly) HF Contest magazine. I won't renew unless it gets better. I also subscribe to CQ-VHF which comes out quarterly but I think is a great magazine.

...since 1989... Time Owned: N.A.
Yes, it is since 1989 that i can't miss a single issue of this magazine.
Now as a subscriber i must admit that my ham radio knowledge is as it is thanks to the great columninst.
I just would like some more technical gear review.

Like CQ Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've subscribed and read CQ for many years. I like it because it's different than QST, which I also like. Sure it has a lot of ads, but so does QST.
One thing I don't like is the way it's bound. A couple issues have come apart or were destroyed in the mail. There are construction articles... AD5X comes to mind immediately. Contesting, articles on antennas, VHF/UHF, product reviews. The price has gone up... have you noticed the price of everything has. I'll keep my subscription thank you.

Terrible Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I was a subscriber to CQ and PopCom for many years. But now they have little content, are mostly ads, and are too expensive.

Great read. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I look forward to CQ each month. QST priced itself out of my budget. Great articles from Dave Ingram. I get my best results from ads and promotions featured in this magazine compared to any of the others.
