Compact 20m/17m Moxen Beam Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The mechanical design of the antenna was very well done with every thing fitting together well and one of the best instruction manuals I have run into. The antenna is very light weight (32 lb) and it proved to be one of the easiest antenna installations I have ever done. I have 3 VSWR meters in the line and they barely move any where in the phone bands.
20 meter VSWR:
14.000 1.6
14.175 1.2
14.350 1.2

17 meter VSWR:
18.068 1.8
18.118 1.3
18.168 1.2
My first contacts on the beam were a VK3 and VK6 both on the long path coming up over Europe to the US. The Moxen generally gets 2 to 3 S-units better results than my 20m/17m dipole. The front to back rejection is great since it eliminates a lot of interference coming from behind you. I have limited space for a beam and this antenna worked out great because it's foot print fits completely on top of my house and has such a low profile. It is a very nice antenna.
