I cancelled my subscription Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Articles are poor, there are way too many advertisements, the reviews are not very good. If you want to learn about ham radio, or if you already know a lot and want to learn even more, there are many YouTube videos and web sited that offer priceless information and clear explanation of cutting edge technology.

***The ARRL membership and QST magazine should be completely free since they get millions of dollars in advertising money and other donations.***

Not much competition Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is the main journal of the ham radio community in the US. No real competition. Article quality depends on submission and are reflection of the ham community as a whole. Product reviews always interesting. The cost is minuscule given limited circulation.

Love it Time Owned: more than 12 months.
And don't forget, I'm paying to have it mailed across the pond! I like the mix of technical articles, stories and reviews. There are a few domestic US topics that I don't read, but that's a price worth paying for a great magazine.

Get Qst every month.
We love it

Not worth my time Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Last few years I read thru it in about 15 minutes then left it at the library for some one else to read. This year after 61 years I did not renew my membership. One reason is they have dumbed down the hobby and most recently sold us out to the HOA's

Its a shame when hams today have to buy a commercial made dipole ant. Perhaps they need to write an article how to build one and how to solder. Then the advertisers would be mad.

Very goo for me Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been a member for several years. I really enjoy QST. I will have to agree with WU7X. Exactly the same feelings here. The ARRL is on our side no matter what.

Nice to read and look forward to getting it every month. Some of the articles are a little over my head though.

Just joined the ARRL 2 months ago and received 2 QST mags. I enjoy reading them and has lots of good info for me. I look forward to receiving more in the future.Seems like a pretty good magazine to me, no complaints so far.

A bargain Time Owned: more than 12 months.
QST + ARRL membership is a bargain. I've been receiving QST for the last 50+ years. I even read the adds to keep up to date on the latest offerings. I've had several articles of my own published over the years.

Thumbs up! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I first got licensed in the very early '80's. At that time there were two or three amateur radio businesses in Spokane. There were war surplus stores, Radio Shack stores, and electronic component stores that I could go to and browse around for parts. That is all gone. Surface mount technology didn't help. Many of us liked working with discrete components, but 1) they are not used very much anymore, and 2) my eyes and hands don't work like they used to. I doubt if the "good old days" will be coming back any time soon.

QST typically has a least one article every month that really excites me. I especially like antenna articles. Most of us can still play with antennas. But I have never once submitted an antenna article, or any other kind, to QST for publication. I wonder how many of the folks complaining about the lack of articles write articles for publication in QST or CQ.

Supporting the ARRL is more than just getting a monthly magazine in the mail. It is our primary tool for supporting the frequencies we have to operate on. It works to give us more antenna choices nationwide in CCR dominated communities. It supports and promotes our public service activities.

I truly understand the fact that some of the ham community do not have the resources to continue to fund ARRL. I may soon be there myself. Perhaps the organization can find a way to subsidize these individuals. As for the others, if you're not participating stop whining, please!

Excellent Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I look forward to receiving QST every month and read it cover to cover. ARRL, the publisher, is working for every licensed amateur radio operator and they are doing a great job. QST Magazine is just an added benefit of membership.

Not again Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
If my membership included QEX, I would renew.
But not just for QST.

I have been a ham for 25 years(last week) and this year was the first time I joined. Looks like it will be the last.
I do admit, when QST was on the newsstand, I would buy it. I miss those days!!
