Great Ant.-Analyzer Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I had a WE-525 which gave me good and easy service, but when the WE-2705P came out, I could not resist and own it now (2017) since 4 years. It is a wonderful instrument. At the radio club I belonged to, we have adjusted all antennas before they were mounted on their respective masts and everything was fine and correct.

I have not used it since a year, have used it again this week and the 2 original chargeable lipo batteries are still fully charged.

The possibilitiy to save the *.bmp printscreens of the graphical plot to a PC is very friendly and helps to make comparisons later on.

I love the WE-2705P and can only recommend the product.

The WE-2705P shines with extensive features. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Waterbeach Electronics Ltd Model WE-2705P is the latest in a series of accurate, feature-rich, easy-to-use antenna analyzer designs from Richard Laver, starting with the WE-30 in 2009 (and reviewed in eham.com). The WE-30 was designed for analyzing HF antennas 160m through 10m.

The latest WE-2705P covers from 1.5MHz to 2.7GHz, covering all ham bands and commercial bands up to 2.7 GHz, and also the popular unlicensed ISM bands for WiFi, Bluetooth, HDTV, and other allocations.

The WE-2705P builds on the features and form of the WE-30 and later models. Inclusion of a menu driven user interface with only 6 push buttons and several graphical and text displays offers intuitive ease-of-use with useful and accurate scalar and vector measurements. The WE-2705P is a vector analyzer, measuring the phase angle as well as the magnitude of the reflected power returned to the analyzer from the load, giving true complex reflection coefficient and impedance calculations. Typical scalar SWR and Return Loss calculations are also included. Simultaneous multiband frequency sweeps are easy to perform with the WE-2705P, and is a great tool for quickly tuning multiband antennas. SWR and RL are graphed an X-Y format. Reflection coefficient and impedance are displayed on a Smith Chart or text format. Accuracy and frequency resolution are commercial grade. The factory calibration includes a 3-term Open-Short-Load error correction, with the inclusion of a similar User calibration!

I purchased a WE-2705P in March of this year, and love it. I had been planning to get a cheaper model without the WE-2705P frequency range or breadth of measurements, but fell in love perusing the Waterbeach Electronics web site. See for yourself the difference between an antenna analyzer that can hopefully do a few measurements adequately and a WE-2705P that does so many useful measurements with accuracy, repeatability, and well-engineered ergonomics. Not unexpectedly, the WE-2705P price is above that of less capable and lower quality instruments. However, many veteran hams acquire several antenna analyzers over the life of their hobby, for increased frequency coverage, enhanced measurement capabilities, PC interfacing, stability, or outright elegance.

The WE-2705P offers outstanding features and performance for the purchase price. Hams in the U.S., and a few other non-UK buyers will also benefit from not paying V.A.T. for overseas purchases. Door-to-door delivery was less than two weeks after sending payment.

The WE-2705P answered the question I could not help asking: Why not get the antenna analyzer with all the features and performance one would want now and for the foreseeable future, and pay only once?
