Not What It Once Was Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I recently started having problems with the Andriod app. It would freeze after a few seconds. So, I attempted to re-install the app on my phone. The re-installation is stuck in a loop and refuses to update. After several attempts, I had to shut off the phone.

I tried logging into the website to see what was going on with my account. I could not get the website from my bookmark, but was able to access RFInder.net from the EHam link. I was immediately taken to the RFinder store. I found something about user tools. This took me to something called "Unified Radio." I found where to enter my GPS location and it did give me a list of repeaters in my area.

But, I did not see anything about getting a list of repeaters for a route or being able to get a list of repeaters for a specific location like before.

This is such a change from the old website. I DO NOT LIKE IT!!! It is not user user friendly. And the app doesn't appear to be working.

To add to the frustration, there is NO way to contact anyone at RFinder for support. The only email I have (that used to work) now is rejected.

RFinder was sold sometime in August 2024 and it shows. The new owners are NOT interested in the repeater database. It used to be a good resource. Not anymore.

I am not impressed with this new website. I wish the app worked.

I won't be spending any more more on this.

Excellent Customer Service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I’ve mostly worked on HF and just started to move to UHF/VHF to help with voluntary events and provide more support to my local ham clubs. Just getting familiar with my new radio and put together a UHF/VHF antenna using the N9TAX Slim Jim Dual Band and ever-present PVC pipe. But there are a lot of menus and options for the Yaesu radio, and, alas I find my neurons may not be as agile as they once were. Of course, the XYL says they never were very agile.

So, acquired the RTsystems programmer for my radio and saw that one could import repeater information into RTsystems using RFinder. I was only interested in subscribing to the web access version and felt that the route search option would be particularly attractive. On the RFinder web site, I purchased a one year access subscription. Paypal happily took my payment, but evidently failed to provide RFinder my email address. I waited a few days to see if the problem would self-correct. No cigar. Fortunately, the RFinder web site indicated that “After subscribing if you do not have an Android or iOS device and if you do not receive the automatic email please contact support at https://help.rfinder.com” Did as instructed, and the next morning RFinder responded, providing me account information and access. I’m very pleased with this courteous and timely response.

Thence to the RTsystems programmer, to load repeater information from RFinder and all worked together just as advertised. So, I’m off to the races. RFinder is dependent upon various data sources and their update for repeater information, and these do change. So one should verify information for key sites—but that is an advantage of the web access subscription for pre-planning. Overall, five star rating from me.

Database is Innacurate. Repeaterbook is Better. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The application runs fine. Planning a trip using the route search is worth its weight in gold. However, the database leaves something to be desired. I compare the results to Repeaterbook and repeater coordinators' website databases and always find discrepancies.

Spent the money, no access. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ok, here is what the website says:
'If not, you can still subscribe to the RFinder Worldwide Repeater Directory.
This also allows access to the directory through RFinder Web, RTSystems, CHIRP, and third-party software, and is ~$12.99 US/year.'
Below it gives you the options for subscriptions and a Buy Now button. So I did. Now you would think that would be it, you pay, you get access. BUT NOOOOO! You get to use the trial. I emailed and after 24 hours NOTHING heard. I suggest you stay away from these guys until they shape up. Covid or no Covid, no excuse for taking money. If you have to use the app to subscribe, get rid of your buttons for Buy Now. Very sad.

Software with installation issues Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the RFinder service to program a handheld transceiver for my son. After paying their fee with PayPal, I never received access to the "product". For days I received incorrect login ID or password messages, and no recognition when I tried to change passwords. Turns out the problem is two-fold: 1) YOU MUST initiate your account with an IOS or Android device (there is no way to do this with a PC); 2) PayPal apparently DID NOT include my e-mail address, so my payment wasn't credited to an account. Waiting for a resolution from Bob W2CYK (613) 830-2555 or (631) 610-9635.

Great software and service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Frankly, I don't understand what the problems are the others have placed on here. This is great software. One of the features is flexibility. I can see it on my iPhone, on my desktop, and on the integrated service in RTSystems. I can sort by band and mode. I can build routes with waypoints. I don't know how you could repeater/reflector radios without this software. As far as service is concerned, if everyone gave the service that Bob does, the would be a far better place. I am thankful that we have people who will write software like this to make my hobby even better. And for $12.99 per year. That is a major bargin in my book.

Skull and Crossbones. Avoid! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Purchased app last week and paid. Unable to log in at all or even set up my account. Sent them two emails to their support address asking for contact and assistance and alternatively for my money Back. No response.

Why in the world ARRL would drop their repeater guide and refer their members to this outfit is beyond me.

Stay Away Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After installing the program, my free trial would not work unless I purchased the program. After uninstalling and re-installing, same result. Further, the location services would not engage, and the program insisted that I had to allow it to manage my incoming and outgoing phone calls yet, there is no explanation as to why. No information available about the program on-line and no way to get any support. This is another example of low quality junk that is designed to get your money up front - before finding out that at best, it is a marginal program.
