Excellent Antenna and good construction Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Had this antenna for about 2 years. Very well constructed. It is mounted about 6 feet above ground on a fence post. While it requires no radials, I am using about 150 feet of metal fence as a counterpoise. Using the autotuner in the 6600M I can work 40-10 meters. 6 meters works as well when band is open, but it is not optimal for 6. 80 meters works as well with the built-in 6600M autotuner. I have also used it with an LDG remote tuner at the base. This gives slightly better performance, but it completely eliminates the possibility of 80 meter transmit.

Five Stars don't do it justice Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Update:

I have used this antenna for over a year and a half. Outstanding performance. I just wanted to add that it has just survived its second hurricane without an issue. I could have lowered it but left it as is. You can check my page on QRZ to see where it is mounted and the results it has achieved.

By far the best made and performing vertical on the market. By the way, I have successfully made contacts on 6 and 80 meters. With very low power of course.

Thanks Tom

Update after two weeks on the air:

I am so impressed with this antenna. I have worked Europe, Africa, Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka, South America and countless US stations. All on FT8. I run about 30 watts and I can switch bands on the fly with my Intellituner. Although, the rigs tuner does the job also.

On SSB, I get solid reports and the nets I check into have commented on how much better my signal is.

I give it a 10 rating.

When we moved to Florida 13 years ago, I had to forget about bringing my beam antenna with me. HOA, limited space, etc. I settled on a Hy-Gain 12 AVQ hidden in the trees behind the home and for years it did the job. But time and weather took its toll on it.

Last year Hurricanes Ian and Nicole finally did it in. After searching e-Ham reviews, I decided to try the Zero-Five 27’ vertical and see how it worked with two 8’ ground rods in place of radials. Don’t really have space to run radials.

All I can say is I love this antenna and all the positive reviews I read did not overstate its quality material, ease of assembly and installation and how well it performs on all bands 40 – 10 meters. I can even operate on 80 meters although I have to run barefoot. I have only had it up for a day. Can’t wait to spend some significant time on the air with it.

5 stars does not do it justice.

Great vertical antenna ! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This Zero Five 27 ft. vertical has been a great addition to my ham station! I placed 16 radials under the antenna and it allows me to work DX stations on FT8 on 40-10 meter bands easily. I have worked Europe, Africa, South America, Australia and Asia with it. Tom at Zero Five antennas answered all my questions before I bought the antenna and the customer experience has been great! I was able to tune all the bands from 40-6 meters with my Kenwood TS-590SG internal tuner. This vertical performs great for me! The antenna has been up a little over a year and I have logged 6,000+ digital QSO's on FT8 on all the bands from 40 meters through 6 meters during the past year. It is a great performing antenna for me. If you can hear them on this antenna you can probably work them even running 30 watts in FT8/4. I used it on SSB at 90 watts for the Wisconsin QSO party and created a pileup on 40 meters. It has been super antenna! Three year update on this antenna it is still a great antenna! I have almost 13,000 FT8 QSO's on 40 meter through 6 meters running 30 watts. I can't ask for better multiband antenna!

high quality vertical monopole Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have used this antenna for over a year, as a WARC band HF antenna used to compliment my HUSTLER 5BTV. The ZeroFive antenna is solid. All parts are high quality, IMO. It comes with an UNUN made by Balun Designs.

By design, this is a non resonant vertical monopole. What that means is the SWR is going to be high most of the time, and you are either going to have to use very high quality coax between the base of the antenna and your ham shack, or put a remotely controlled antenna tuner at the base of the antenna. I chose the former, and have had good results with LMR-240 coax feeding the antenna at 100 watts.

Also, hahaha, despite the manufacturer's claims, this antenna needs numerous ground radials to provide optimum performance. I suggest installing a DX Engineering ground radial plate and running 30 wire radials at a minimum.

If I decide to increase power, I'll be replacing the LMR-240 with LMR-400.

Long story short, this is a high quality untuned vertical monopole, that depends on the end user to know something about antennas in order for it to provide decent performance.

Excellent 10-40M Ant, easy to install, great support Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Tom provides outstanding customer support. He answered all my questions promptly and I had no problems installing this vertical. The hardest part of the installation was to dig the 3-4 ft hole for the 5 ft water pipe antenna support and pound in the ground rods. After that was done the rest went together very quickly. The antenna has a fold-over mount design which makes it easy for one person to raise and lower the antenna. I installed this antenna by myself and enjoyed the entire process. Everything went together well and worked the first time without any troubleshooting needed.

I installed two ground rods near the base, attached the run of coax to the supplied 4-1 Unun and I was on the
air. I made two quick state-side contacts on 20 meters around 3:00 pm for the initial antenna test.

Band conditions during the day were not great so I waited till around 8:00 pm to see how well this antenna worked. Band conditions on 20, 30, and 40 meters really picked up. My first few contacts were with India, Thailand, and Kuwait. I worked another 12 stations all over Europe with ease before taking a break.

Needless to say, I was quite pleased with the overall performance, the low noise of the antenna, and the ease of tuning each band. The antenna is very broad-banded so once I tuned the band, I didn't have to retune as I moved up and down the CW portion of the bands.

If you're looking for an HOA-friendly vertical you can't do much better than this ZEROFIVE 27 ft Vertical. In addition, the support that Tom provides is outstanding. A great combination!

Best Verticle I've Owned Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is my 3rd vertical - Cushcraft R7 and Hy-Gain AV-18AVQII. Each did as the manufacture advertised. Each had to be "cleaned" occasionally. Then I got on eham and did some homework. Found this company and talked to the owner. I was very impressed. I decided on the 10-40 without the ground radials. I mounted it according to the instructions and have been using it ever since.

Zero Five Exceeds My Expectations Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
With no radials this vertical performs as good as my 65' high inverted V. I had to remove my tower for pool construction and thought I would give this vertical a try on a ground mounted configuration. I have no room for radials so thought I would suffer. No, not the case. This vertical is unbelievable. No high local noise as was expected and I can hear almost any DX as with the other antenna. Located in Florida I get consistent S9 reports from Africa and Europe running only 200 watts. My coverage to the west has improved. I cannot give the rating more than allowed but a 10 star rating would be my choice.

Very High Quality Materials Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After enduring a HyGain ground mounted vertical that went SWR crazy any day it rained, I sprang for the ZeroFive 27ft vertical. I was immediately impressed with the very high quality, heavy duty aluminum construction but was initially dismayed by the brief assembly and installation instructions, but soon discovered how simple it was to put together. I assembled it in less than half an hour. All tuning can be done inside the shack with a tuner. SWR was tuned to 1.3:1 on 20 and 1.4:1 to 1.6:1 on 40 and 15. One of the first contacts with the antenna was Asiatic Russia on 20m with only 15 watts and the radial plate not hooked up yet. I emailed ZeroFive about some SWR issues at 9;40pm on a Saturday evening and the owner, Tom, replied within 20 minutes. The following day Tom called to check-up on the installation, emblematic of the superior Quality and customer service. If youlive in Hurricane prone areas, this antenna is the one.

Great antenna for HOA stealth! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I live in an HOA neighborhood and I've hidden this antenna among some trees. Can't see it from the street. I've owned this antenna for over 2 years and as others have stated, if I can hear them I can work them. Always get good signal reports. I added eight 27 foot radials and the performance improved even more. To work 80 meters, I spliced in a coil of #14 wire wound on a 3" PVC pipe about 20 turns. Worked stations in an 80 meter contest from one coast to the other from Oklahoma. Highly recommended!

Good Antenna in a pinch Time Owned: more than 12 months.
When the tornado took my tower down and destroyed every antenna, I put the zero5 up 40-10, no radials. Works okay, work lots of stuff but no way resonant. Many times I have to use the amp to be heard but not complaining. Easy to put together and get up. Thinking of moving its location to another part of the yard when I heal up so I can drive another pipe in the ground for it in this rocky rocky soil. I give it a thumbs up. Oh, I have used it on 75 meters and 6 meters also.
