Oldie but a goodie Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I find it hard to believe I am the only person to review this old boatanchor, but......
Back "in the day", fresh out of the military, I lived in an apartment, that had to be the worst VHF site on earth. My very first phone contact was on 6 Meter AM with some old Lafayette / Knightkit stuff. I had a blast with 6M AM from the home QTH and from various mountain tops in New England. When SSB came along, I tried many combinations of exciters/transverters. I remember purchasing the complete Swan line, 250C, TV-2C, PS etc, on their 'credit' program. Everything worked fantastic (except for the TV-2C) (see separate review). I had to sell my babies to purchase my first home.....'

I recently saw a nice 250C on ePay for cheap, as a 'parts radio', locally. I bought it and then found another 250C also very cheap. Both were easy fixes. Bad tube, xtal calibrator, alignment etc...
These radios will easily hear my antenna. The sensitivity is pretty amazing for the vintage....LOVE those 6CW4 Nuvistors!!! I would be ashamed to admit how many of these tubes (also 6DS4) I have!! ha ha
Heathkit also used a pair in the SB-110 radios......

Works fer me...
