a nice alternative to qst Time Owned: more than 12 months.
it could be better but i useally enjoy every issue i get. i make my own opinions and deside for my self what is fact , so i dont mind when someones ideals are a little diverse nor am i afaid to ponder or think for myself as some are.It tends to be more technical mag than qst.qst is good but tends to be ridged and sides with the majority too much .

For those seeking more Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Uncle Wayne’s magazine is definitely not for the “You’re 59, QSL via the Bureau” crowd. Good fodder for conversation or debate in every issue. If you are mature enough.

Goodbye 73 Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
You can't be taken seriously as a technical magazine when most of your editorial writings revolve around gov't conspiracy theories and obscure health practices. Your either a semi technical ham radio magazine or one that is about to pursue a new market that involves science fiction and micro-biotic diets. Since 73 now proclaims we are all the victims of gov't-big business conspiracies and that we never went to the moon, they crossed over into a writing for another market not related to ham radio. Goodbye 73.

I usually read 73 magazine in the library. This month's editorial bothered me. In it, the editor brings up the point that we may not have actually gone to the moon in the 1960's and 1970's and that the US government faked it. Given the fact that this is a technical publication, taking this position is beyond me. The people of 73 magazine should know better than to promote this crap. We all get enough of the abducting UFO vegetarians from outer space from other sources.

Same old , same old ... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Wayne has always been controversial, and I'm actually ashamed to see that he has been taken in by the "NASA Moonlanding Conspiracy" being foisted on us by the anti-government 'slander America for higher ratings' campaign at Fox News.
But you will actually find extremely useful articles in this magazine that you won't find anywhere else. Yeah, the technical quality went downhill after the issue where he put his bikini'ed wife on the cover, but that's OK. It's worth a few bucks. Wayne may have been the only spokesman for a no-code license back in the 60's.

The editorials are worth their weight in gold! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
There have been few hams who have had a positive influence on my life the way Wayne Green has. His editorials have encouraged me to get off my duff and "do something" more than once over the 40 years I've been a ham.

The editorials are worth the price of the subscription. I am a League member but can't ever recall an editorial encouraging me to do anything at all.

Wayne is one of a kind. We need more people like him in life. His editorials are refreshing and they make me think. That's more than the League has ever made me do.

Political & fringe science ideas, great, tech. level too basic. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
As a libertarian who is also into "alternative" science, I love Wayne's rebellious, outlandish editorials. And I agree with him more often than, perhaps, I should admit! But most of the articles are much too basic with regard to technical sophistication. I think QST is pretty good in that area. I've been reading "73" since the days of their feud with "CQ" over the Don Miller DXpedition!

WAYNE IS RIGHT Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My "low" number 3 is only because of how "thin" the magazine is getting, and how HIGH the price has become. While Wayne may rant and rave about lots of strange things, He is always a hoot to read. AND go back 25 years ago and reread some of his editorials and thoughts. Hindsight is 20-20! As it turns out, Wayne was CORRECT in almost all of his ramblings back then!! Wayne may not be subtle or politicly correct, But he has been RIGHT more than wrong about the direction of ham radio, and other things. Kind of frightning!

Too much RF exposure? Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have enjoyed some of the mags that Wayne has founded - but I fear that the gentleman has lost the edge (and his grip). Faked moon landing? Wayne P-L-E-A-S-E!

I like 73 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I think it's a great magazine. I think Wayne Green is quite a character, who has a sense of humour, with a great concern about which way the hobby is going. Anybody who says they don't like Wayne Green's personality imprinted on the magazine just don't like Wayne Green. I agree with the person who said he is kind of like Hugo Gernsback. I have old magazines by Gernsback Publications and his personality was imprinted in the pages of those magazines also. I would buy the magazine just for his editorials. To those appliance operators who don't like to build projects. Get an appliance operator publication and enjoy the endless ads. Experimentation and building are what has made the hobby great and if a person doesn't like the smell of hot solder and burned fingers this magazine isn't for you.

Great Magazine Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is our hobby, we get out of it, in terms of what we put into it. Many persons who are complaining about Wayne Green, have never took the time to write and state why they disagree. It' easier to bitch and complain, If you don't agree, and think he's nuts write him and state your reasons. If you want some other type of articles in 73 Amateur Radio, write them. We are dying as a hobby, and people should be supporting every ham radio magazine and their local clubs, and national associations.
