Excellent Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I was having trouble with my 20 year old Icom IC 756 Pro 2. When you transmit the radio shuts down and reboots. Steve was able to diagnose the problem quickly and repaired the radio. His repair cost was extremely reasonable. Would highly recommend the Radiosmith for any radio repairs.

Ten-Tec repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My Omni V was experiencing crystal stability issues, both on transmit and receive. Steve, always keeping me informed, replaced the crystal oscillator mixing board, performed other adjustments, alignment and various tests, bringing the transceiver back to within tolerance. My rig now performs like it did when I purchased it new. If you're looking for professional repair, from someone who treats your rig with the utmost care, send your ailing gear to Steve, for professional, prompt and reasonably priced service.

Very well done. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I was thinking about sending Steve my Ten Tec Omni II that was having real problems with the Main AF gain encoder and the memory battery. He was kind enough to email me a method to do the repair myself. If I have a real problem I would not hesitate to send Steve any of my equipment.

Yet another VERY satisfied customer Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Add my name to the growing list of happy customers of The Radiosmith. I contacted Steve regarding a slightly Jurassic IC-281H with a receive audio problem. Steve agreed to take on the project, and I shipped the rig to him. Steve is a true gentleman, and kept me informed every step of the way. He is very generous with advice, and performed the needed repairs in a timely fashion. When I got the rig back, I was stunned how clean it looked, as if it had just come off the assembly line. He told me that since he had to disassemble most of the radio, it seemed the right thing to do before reassembly. THAT is service above and beyond. I endorse the Radiosmith enthusiastically, and won't hesitate to call on him again when the need arises.

Very competent and fast Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bought a TenTec Omni VII transceiver from the estate of a deceased ham. On first use, the radio went dead and would not turn on. Contacted the RadioSmith via email and he promptly replied and recommended I send the radio to him. Sent Steve the Omni and the turn around time was less than 10 days. It was returned via FedEx with unbelievable packing. The Omni worked perfectly. I strongly recommend Steve.

Top-notch expertise and customer service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased a used Ten-Tec Scout 555 about 25 years ago. Very recently, it suddenly stopped working and had started to develop some minor problems beforehand.

When I contacted Steve, he immediately got back to me and I sent him my radio for repair. Within around 4 days of receipt of the unit, he had rigorously tested, worked all of the bugs out of it (including issues with the s-meter, tuning knob, old potting compound, and a manufacturing defect which caused him to rework the ground and replace a connector), and restored it back to factory spec's (which I requested), followed up by a QC check!

Beside his high level of expertise and customer service, I especially appreciate Steve's receptiveness, attentiveness and strong communicative nature, which I experienced throughout our interactions concerning this repair. I am now thrilled to have my beloved radio back in my possession, fully operational. Steve, The Radiosmith, is now my go-to engineer for future radio issues.

Outstanding Service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had an unfortunate incident with my Icom IC-7300 and roasted the finals. I found Steve here on eHam and decided to give him a shot at the repair given his excellent reviews. Boy am I glad I did! Steve makes it so easy to get the repair ordered, all with just a couple emails. The turnaround was exceptional. Steve had the rig on his bench immediately after he received it, diagnosed the problem, had the parts ordered and the rig repaired within a few days. All while keeping me informed at every step along the way. Once he had the 7300 back up and running he did a full check to make sure all functions were operating correctly, and then packaged and shipped it back to me within a week of receiving it. Wow! You can’t ask for better service than that. His rates are more than competitive and he makes the entire process a breeze. The 7300 is back on the air at full power and I could not be more pleased. I will definitely go to Steve for any future repairs, he is a true professional!

Great experience with Steve Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I sent my FT 950 down to Steve because of issues I was having with transmitting. What got my attention was his honesty and clarity. He went through the rig and told me there was nothing wrong with the radio. I dug deeper and found out it was something related to my feedline and antenna. I just felt good sending the radio to him, knowing that his assessment would be honest and fair.. and it was. His communication was sincere and warm and fast. I got timely responses from him. Never had to wait long for an answer to my many emails - like I was talking to a business owner who really cared and wanted to do the best for his client. had been looking for a good radio guy for a while and now I've found one! Overall, a great experience.

Radiosmith (Steve)

My FT-897D was having issues receiving in FM modes. Steve pinpointed the issue quickly and found a filter bad. After sourcing a set of filters, he replaced them and the transceiver is working correctly. His turn around time for the repair was quick. Steve's communication was excellent with many updates during the troubleshooting and repair. Radiosmith will be my trusted repair service in the future!

I don't have enough words to express my gratitude for the Radiosmith's knowledge and responsibility.

The story is so long, but it started as a simple project and finished as a complex project with adaptations from different brands to become just one solution for my future ham operations.

He never says no to my ideas; it is so fun to work with him in terms of creativity.

By far is the best service I have had in 42 years as a ham.

I asked him about the pros and cons of better equipment and based on that, I purchased it, and now, he is working on it.

More future projects to be involved with Radiosmith, for sure!!!.

As a human being, he is top-notch.

I hope to meet him in person soon.
