Made a believer of this QRP'er Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This antenna is one tough hombre. Pretty neat thing about having six 3 foot sections is that the 18 feet of this antenna tapers with the strength necessary to withstand a recent 90MPH wind that came through here. Not having any power put me in QRP battery mode. I was still able to make all of the necessary QSOs (plus a few DX). Not having to worry about tuning up the antenna was also a big deal, and it truly didn't need me to tune 10-80 meters. I also want to note that a branch had fallen on one of the active elements, which had pulled a wire out of one of the crimp on connectors. It was so easy to fix, that I give this antenna a 5+. Especially after considering how easy it would be to fix any part of this antenna it in the field, no matter how bad the damage might be (within reason of course). In my experience many portable antennas rely on a coil wrapped around some plastic or on a special injection molded plastic/fiberglass piece of non-replaceable or recreatable part. Not to mention the fragility of most of today's whips and base mounts. The base mount on this antenna will please the most passionate radio operator, and in my mind I cannot imagine any scenario that would damage it. And for the whip? This isn't no whip, its a real base antenna! Yeah, I'd buy another one, as a matter of fact, I already have! One for portable and one for permanent base installation.

Bravo! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
AUGUST 1; I must give this company highest marks for service and product. I have not experienced anything on air that performs like the Alpha Antenna that I received a couple days ago. I had the entire antenna system up and ready in less than 10 minutes. First contact reported me as a 5-8 on 20 meters to Belgium. I kept reeling in DX contacts with remarkable consistency. Checked into the 40 meter net later that evening and even had a DX contact come back and ask what antenna I was using, which he said was "working well". Popped onto 160 and after a rag chew called it a night.

AUGUST 30; The last month has been very exciting, having logged 87 DX and 398 state-side QSOs in what little time I have to be on the air. I have occasionally taken the antenna out to remote locations and use QRP. I never would have thought of a base antenna being so easily taken down and setup. An added feature is that this antenna is small enough to fit into the 38.5 inch bag from Alpha Antenna at http://amateurradiostore.com/. Bravo on such a fine performing antenna, that can be used as a base or portable system.
