Life saving antenna-works fabulously Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I meet Steve at the QRP conference in Branson MO. While talking with him I asked about the 6-80 Ezmilitary Antenna. I wanted one for the use for ARES Emergency Operations during disasters. After talking to him I decided to purchase the antenna. I took the antenna home and deployed it as I would in a disaster. I was amazed at the number of the contacts I was able to make since the antenna was deployed on a 3 foot stand. I was using the metal whip that came with the unit and made contacts on all the bands listed with the antenna. I took Steve"s advice and purchased the 60' Emcomm Element and again deployed the system for Field Day. The antenna performed flawlessly and I was blown away by the contacts that we were able to make all up and down the bands. By the end of field day we had logged over 1600 contacts with this antenna paired with my Yaesu 857D. We did use a tuner on 80 meters on SUM of the contacts where the SWR's were close to 3. We didn't, however, ever see an SWR above 2.5 but the tuner made that match a little better. All in All I have to say this antenna is an asset to any go bag or emergency radio deployment kit.

UPDATE:
I have been using this antenna for EMCOMMS since 2016. It has now worked during and after numerous hurricanes and sever storms and tornado response. I can’t tell you how many lives this antenna set up has helped save. IT WORKS, IT WORKS EXTREMELY WELL. I am the Missouri ARRL Section Manager and I use this antenna for everything from Field Day to the above described emergencies. I have found this antenna to be one that can take the abuse of bad situations such as storms as well as being solid and useful for recreational enjoyment. Can’t say enough about this antenna.

Pretty darn good in my opinion Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased this used for $250 on the "other" site. Since the instructions are lousy, I called the owner of the company and left a message. I don't believe he likes to speak to people. He texted me and we had a worthwhile exchange on how it's supposed to be setup.
I mounted it on a camera tripod, extended the one counterpoise and ran about 80' of RG/213 to my radio. It's an old Kenwood TS-570 with internal tuner. I used a 4' ground rod as well. I setup in my front yard and it tuned on 20M instantly. I made contacts all over the US, Canada and Canary Islands. Tried 40M; just as good. 10, 12, 15, 17, and 80 ALL tuned easily. I am happy and would recommend it. It's to keep the XYL happy as to not load more heavy crap in our RV. She'll never know it's hidden in there. ;-)

Fast set up and it works! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Back now after apx 5 years of using the "original" Alpha EZ Military vertical. We have two of these in service...one mounted at the back of pickup truck using the "door-jamb" mount bolted to the inside of the bed with a coax semi-perm run up the front of the bed so it can be fed into the rear cab window for use inside or back to the tailgate when wx allows ops out in the open. The other is in a go box for deployment using the jaw-clamp on a tripod or a copper-pipe "mast" driven into the sand or dirt.
Either way these antennas are exceptionally effective and we have worked California, Europe and South America from the beach, the lighthouse parking lot and the backyard. Counterpoise helps with ground level installations but on the truck we have not needed anything more than the 2 tons of metal to provide adequate ground.

The Alpha FMJ (the original metal covered one) is equally effective and agile. We use it on a large 3-magnet magmount on the metal truck and SUV roof and sometimes with the jaw-clamp on hotel balconies and chainlink fences found in parks and backyards.

One more update: The Alpha "J-Pole", an end-fed from a match unit at the corner of the house at apx 20 ft up and run to a PVC pole strapped to the fence apx 65 feet away.....is still doing a great job as one of our two "end fed" wires at both houses. It works as well or better than the 135 ft end fed multi band.

To be fair, the Chameleon EMCOMM II also works well, so the choice may come down to responsiveness of the company and service....Which Alpha has excelled at for as long as I have been purchasing their equipment (apx 5 years).

Excellent antenna Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I purchased this antenna primarily based on it's specs, reviews and the fact that I have an HOA that thinks we live in Communist China and reacts negatively to even the slightest infraction.

I use it with a Yeasu FT-891 and have made many strong contacts as far away as South Korea from Long Island, New York.

When I first received it, the connector on top of the match wouldn't hold the mast without tearing off.

I contacted Alpha, the support team was incredibly attentive, responsive and eager to solve all of the issues. I got an immediate response and they had another match shipped out at me at no charge even before I had the chance to return the broken unit.

As a result of that communication they actually modified the match connector and sent me a new modified part. It is now a very structurally solid antenna.

I comfortably and easily recommend this antenna to all of my HAM buddies that are looking for an incredible HF antenna.

Alpha Antenna makes effective, solid quality products here in America. I have very rarely found a company that truly and sincerely takes customer service and support as seriously as these people do. They put the quality back into Made in America.

You can choose an Alpha Antenna with confidence. You will not be disappointed. This company is awesomely great.

HOA hidden install worked like a champ! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
So, I moved to a new place, with lots of homeowners association nonsense.

I had my EZ Military antenna in the SUV, because I have my vehicle rigged for radio, so I got the EZ Military out, and put it in the backyard.

It is quite near some trees and bushes so it was not very visible. By near, I mean within about 3-4 feet. I have the counterpoise wire strung out near or on the ground, in other words, a very cheesy install, for the heck of it, just to see if it works.

I patched it into my new Yaesu FT DX-101 MP (with an MFJ 993B tuner) and started poking around on the air.

The antenna heard quite well.. better than expected.

The 1st evening was kind of a bust. I could hear well, but was apparently not getting out, and figured it was the proximity to the vegetation..

WRONG!

It was propagation. The next night I tried again.

I logged contacts to the following locations:
Quebec, BC, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Japan (in the wee hours) some on 20 meters and others on 40 and 1 on 80. I also checked in to a few nets on 40 that were all over the West and British Columbia. It even loaded up on 160, and if the guys on that net I heard would have ever stopped rag chewing, I might have gotten into that.

It was awesome!

I had tried using it in Southeast Alaska, without a lot of luck, but in Southeast, one frequently has propagation issues. I had not seriously used it since.

Now, I think it is pretty darn cool.

My only thought is some weights to pin the tripod down, or some large tent stakes for mildly windy days. That is just a logistical issue, and not a performance issue though.

WOW Time Owned: more than 12 months.
looking for an eazy set up light weight antenna this is it. Used it on a hurrication at the pool and running qrp with qso's around the US. At home I've made 2 ways with a few stations in the Pacific. Only problem is have to weigh the tripod down since it will blow over. So far had to replace the antenna element after it fell off my deck. Otherwise I love the thing.

Great Antenna for Portable Ops Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Purchased this antenna new 6 or 7 years ago, and still performs quite well.

It has been used at Field Day (summer and winter), vacations, and US Islands operations.

The portability, sturdiness, and ease of setup make this a welcome addition to portable operations gear.

I would buy it again.

160-6 Vertical Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I had an older version covering 160...it worked great using 30w or less was able to achieve DXCC...during an ice storm it bent into a big U...when it thawed worked like new...sent a pix to Steve for info...I had another problem but can not recall, it was minor and though their usual great customer service was solved quickly...another antenna I should have kept...Ken N5LYJ

Excellent antenna, excellent customer service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I am so pleased with the EZMilitary antenna. I have had good signal reports - some contacts adding that my signal was very strong. I’ve been able to work some exciting DX, and all while running no more than 100 watts. I live in an HOA with antenna limitations. This antenna is the perfect answer for an HOA. I can set it up and take it down in less than 5 minutes. If you need it, Alpha Antenna customer service is outstanding. I highly recommend the Alpha Antenna EXMilitary antenna.

Absolutely a great antenna! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have the original Alpha that required a tuner - and still keep it for backpacking. However, I want to make note of the Alpha EZ Military system (6-80m sans tuner) and my experience. I’ve used it on Field Day exercises, Scout camp demos, and, most recently, have had it in backyard as my temporary HF antenna. (Moved a couple months ago and have not yet installed a permanent antenna.) My Alpha EZ has been working great with most use with digital modes and some NVIS. Just can’t say enough about this great system. Pricey, but great quality and excellent performance. You won’t go wrong with this one!
