Superb Radio Pack Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Raven is a purpose built for the military PRC-117 manpack. However, it so happens than the Yaesu FT-897(D) or similarly configured radio fits perfectly.

I purchased mine on Amazon for substantially less than the manufacturers list price. This is a seriously high quality pack. There are zippers, pockets, and snaps all over this thing! Some of the neat features are:

1. Dedicated battery bag that snaps onto the bottom of the internal radio holder (which is in itself removable).

2. Preformed and weather protected holes for antenna whips.

3. Provisions for hydration, ie small water bottle.

3. Kidney pad, lumbar support, wide shoulder straps, and a chest strap.

4. Attachment points are similiar to the military Molle system.

5. Plenty of pockets, as stated, for your field accessories, eg. microphone, headset, key, logbook, field rations.

6. Internal composite hard frame.

This pack may be somewhat expensive, but believe me, you do get what you pay for. It comes in two colors, tan and black. Some of our fine troopers have used this pack overseas.

Again, highly recommended!
