QUIET reception - big perfomance Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
We had the chance to play with this antenna during the last IARU HF championship representing Spanish's URE on 10m SSB from a temporary hilltop location. All antenna tubes and plates are made with a strong aluminum alloy with a accurate mechanic manufacture. The rest of the hardware is all made of stainless steel. The aluminum alloy used is T5 6061/6063 and T6 6082, the best alloy for manufacturing antennas and good weatherproofing.
Both the boom and the elements are screwed by stainless steel screws.
The boom is held together by tapered sections with insertions of about 30cm, giving the structure a good strength.
The elements are electrically isolated from the boom and attached to it by teflon clamps srewed on a thick aluminum plate, making it a very stable elements alignment and easy assembly.

RF is applied to a supplied high power 1:1 balun with a UHF SO239 connector, as it shows 50 Ohms load. Adjustment was easy by just following the detailed loop meassures in the manual. All other tubing parts are pre-drilled so you don't need to change them as SWR is rather flat throughout the CW/SSB band. Most remarkable feature of this aerial is its quitness and high gain making this Yagi a winner. Non official results show us as IARU HF championship HQ world winners.
