After 38 years of repairing amateur radio equipment and being over 70 years old the fire has about gone out. My wife and I have decided to take an extended sabbatical and see some of this great country of ours.

To this end we will not accept repairs after February 15, 2019. All radios received before that date will be repaired and returned to the owners. The 30 day warranty will remain in effect.

We have both enjoyed what we have been doing and have the best customers in the world. I will continue to provide help via the internet and limited phone help during our extended sabbatical.

This fall we will re-evaluate and determine the next step. I appreciate your understanding.

SM220 repair Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought a used Kenwood station monitor from a guy in Canada that worked great. When I got it, it would turn on but no trace, I sent it to Cliff and later he emailed me saying it had 2 bad filter caps. He repaired it and now it's like new. Not only did he find the filter caps. but he replaced 2 couplings and it's like brand new. This guy was referred to me by Kenwood. He did a great job at a good price.

Great Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Read a couple negative reviews here on E-Ham. As far as I am concerned they are totally misrepresenative of this gentleman. Called, made an appointment and was greeted by Clif. He immediately opened my TS570 up, pluged it in and hit the nail right on the head. He had it up and running great within a reasonable time. He charged a reasonable fee and was very courteous.
Had sent the unit to KW in Cal. they returned the unit unrepaired and said nothing could be found wrong with the radio. (probably never hooked it up).
I certainly would recommend Clif for all KW repairs. He has sufficient test equjipment to diagnose any problem.
His experience allows him to diagnose KW problems without test equipmnet.
Great Job Clif. Don't pay attention to the negative feed back. Can't please all the folks all the time......

TS2000 Repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After sending TS2000 to CA, cost of $300+ and it was returned, not working, sent it to Clif. He repaired shorted CF4, replaced CF1 & CF2. Checked and aligned, also upgraded the firmware AND shipped it back to me in working order for about the same as the postage cost roundtrip to CA!! Used FedEx as he recommended, I knew where the radio was at all times using FedEx, going and coming. Will definitely use Clif again and highly recommend him for Kenwood Radio's.

Great repairman Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I had my 930 for several years when the power switch went out. Looked everywhere and finally put a request out on qth. Cliff answered my ad immediately and stated he had the switch. I ordered the switch and in a few days the switch was installed and the 930 was working agn. I still have some minor problems,but this time I am taking a couple days with the wife and driving down to see cliff. Gotta meet this man. Thanks Clif for what you do so well!

Trust AVVid with Your Kenwood Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Problematic ATU operation in a TS-440SAT that was only realized after getting my General License. Having consulted Clif on other issues with the rig via email in the past, and having read his many helpful and authoritative posts on the Yahoo newsgroup (including these reviews) it was clear he'd be the one I'd trust to repair it. Excellent communications, timely repair, very reasonable service fees. He even returned the failed components with the rig! Recommended!

TS-830s service / AAA+ Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My TS-830s began to have issues: no transmit, no ALC, no bias, etc. Problem was intermittant. And after checking connections and the circuit board mounting screws....I still had intermittant problems.
Contacted Clif, via Email...he suggested several items for me to check. None fixed the problem...so I made appointment and drove to his location.

He promptly diagnosed the issue and replaced the RL-1 relay. He also checked rig over, adjusted alignment, etc. Total time on his bench was approximately one hour.
Total price for labor and parts was very resonable.

Rig works like a champ now.....very pleased with his service and assistance. Thanks Clif....

Kenwood King Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
What could I say that has not bee already said ? My TS850AT was silent and no S meter, when turned on. Then for 10 to 15 minutes and a lot of crackling sound, will come on with High density noise. My eyes not being what they used to be I shipped the rig with a note to Clif. I expected a 2 months turn around. Within 12 to 20 days, received an e-mail/invoice. Reasonable cost. The item was on its way when I sent a check. Performance A ++. Kenwood owes you a lot, Clif. Keep the good work.

I sent a TS-850SAT to Clif about 5 years ago. He repaired it and sent it back before my payment would even have had time to arrive at his location...I certainly don't call this a bad business ethic! I've had no further problems with my radio and I would NOT hesitate to recommend Clifs services to anyone.

Like many others on here. I shipped off my Kenwood TS-950SDX to be fixed by the man.

First off, let me say that *I* personally did not pay for the cost of the repairs, shipping or packing. My 60-something year old parents did... as a birthday gift to me. (God love them both...)

Luckily for me, I paid the extra money to get it triple boxed and it arrived in good shape. It also came back in the same shape.

The total cost of dealing with Mr. Holland to my Parents was $365.00 $225.00 for the job and shipping back, and $140.00 for the packing and shipping there.

To be fair to Mr. Holland, the PLL problem was fixed. It has not cut out totally, YET, like it did before. But it does STILL have the warble problem on TX and RX. It was just doing when it first came on, now it is doing it most of the time. Clif Said that the pod is flaky and that he would tell me how to fix it. Sorry Clif, But when $255.00, plus $140.00 shipping packing fees is paid to fix a radio; I expect the thing to fixed and fixed right. I also expect prompt and kindly written e-mails. Not e-mails returned a day later and sometimes not at all. Further more, I expect you to answer the phone when I call and not act like I'm interrupting your Day when I do call.

I guess when I am able to get back to work. I guess *I* will have to pay to get the radio shipped down to AES and let Miles go through the thing and hopefully HE can fix the problem.

Clif has repaired 2 of my rigs. One failed after a year. I sent it back and he said if was his fault and repaired it at no cost, even paid the return shipping. THIS IS REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I am even recommending him to our local ham club.
