After 38 years of repairing amateur radio equipment and being over 70 years old the fire has about gone out. My wife and I have decided to take an extended sabbatical and see some of this great country of ours.

To this end we will not accept repairs after February 15, 2019. All radios received before that date will be repaired and returned to the owners. The 30 day warranty will remain in effect.

We have both enjoyed what we have been doing and have the best customers in the world. I will continue to provide help via the internet and limited phone help during our extended sabbatical.

This fall we will re-evaluate and determine the next step. I appreciate your understanding.

Great Job on Repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Just wanted to add my experince with Clif at AVVid. Clif did a great job reparing my TS-850.
The rig had the PL Unlock problem, and some leaky caps. Clif repaired the rig and did a couple of mods that I requested. The price was very fair and the turn-around time was great.

Clif at AVVid is my hero! He expertly repaired my TS-940S for a reasonable price in 30 days door-to-door including UPS ground transit time from Virginia.

Very responsive and willing to help even before taking on the rig for service. Shipped unit back in anticipation of payment as well.

Simply said, Clif is first class.

UNDER-promises, OVER-delivers! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I have contacted Clif on several occasions regarding Kenwood rig issues. He has been DEAD CENTER OF THE BULLSEYE every time, which resulted in no need to even send anything to him for repair!

Well, recently I had a TS-430S that I had done some work on (replaced all of the relays, added the relay maintenance circuit recommended by Kenwood, etc.). Afterward, I had a few head-scratcher issues and did not want to make matters worse, so I sent the rig to Clif, fearing I had potentially expensive issues beyond my experience.

I received an email from Clif that dissapointed me. He was busy and would likely not get to the rig for about 3 weeks. I took a deep breath and asked that he keep me informed.

Ten days later, the rig was done, the problems (minor) fixed, and I had a VERY REASONABLE invoice by email. I sent a check out immediately, and Clif shipped the rig BEFORE receiving my check!

Clif is the best. This is professional customer service. He will get all my Kenwood business and as many referrals as I can muster.

Had a problem with a KENWOOD transceiver, and Cliff was kind enough to offer some suggestions that resolved the problem..You won't find many like Cliff..THANK YOU...BOB

I recently had a problem with my TS 2000. Turned out to be an operator error.
Clif was good at explaining what I missed on setting the gain for the main transmitter/receiver.
He also uploaded the latest firmware and checked the radio for to assure it was operating properly.
I sent him the radio by UPS on a Thursday. He received it the next day and it was ready for pickup on Tuesday of the next week.
In comparison, the turn around time at Kenwood's West repair shop was at least four weeks before they would even look at it.
If I ever have any more problems with my TS 2000 it will go to Clif Holland again.

Clif repaired my TS-2000..had to wait a bit for parts, but great job! Reasonable pricing. Shipped back quickly. Kept me posted all the way. Very pleasant to work with. Thanks! Will use again, if needed.

I have had Clif fix several older Kenwoods with good results. No BS about how it took 2 hours longer than estimated etc. Just good honest repair at a reasonable price. Even with freight from the left coast repair bill was modest. I recommend AVVid!!

Simply put, Clif's repair service is as good as it gets. As many have commented, he's honest, straight forward, and gets the job done quickly and at a very reasonable rate for the quality of the service.

My TS-940S has visited Clif twice in the past seven months--once for a PA failure and then again for a PLL unlock problem. In both cases, Clif's email responses were prompt, and his work quick and effective.

As long as Clif is in business, I won't hesitate to buy older Kenwoods.

Clif took in my Kenwood 570DG that i had acquired from a ham dealer used. From the first day, i thought it was just common with the radio but it was an intermitent receiver...it would work great, then BAM the receiver dropped out of site to a whisper... i also thought it was just the lousy band conditions, but i eventually discovered that it was the radio receiver..That may have been the reason the original owner probably used it in a trade.

I called Clif and he agreed to take the challenge...he found the problem and he fixed it for a a reasonable price and got it back to my shack after the repair in a timely manner.

I strongly recomment Clif and AVVid...Honest, reasonalbe and will actuall fix your problem..

Plan to use them again if i have a problem with my old trusty 830 or 570DG!
