Best 1/4-wave whip for HTs Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
First, this is a whip, not a duck. I realize to many there's not much diff, but to me, performance says it all. I have 1/4-wave whips for my Yaesu (FT-60R) and Baofeng (UV-82, UV-B6, UV-B5) HTs from Diamond (RH-771), Comet (SMA-503), Nagoya (NA-771), hand-made, and this one out-performs them all. At my favorite spot (41 miles north of our 146.760 repeater on Lake Mountain, Utah County, Utah), the NA-775 brings reports of snowy or scratchy but understandable signal, where they can't hear me at all (won't open the repeater) when I'm using the Diamond or Comet. BTW, my hand-made whip brings reports of more noise than language.
