|The tester uses 6 AA cells. The nominal measuring voltages are 250, 500, and 1000. I measured 241, 501, and 982V, respectively. There are two measuring ranges for each of the three voltages, ranging from 0.1 M Ohm to 1999 M ohm. A 3.09 M ohm resistor measured 3.1 M ohm independent of the measuring voltage. A 1090+/-2% M ohm resistor measured 1081 M ohm. Although the manual lists maxima of 500 M ohm and 1000 M ohm at 250 and 500V ,respectively my meter showed 1081 M ohm at all 3 measuring voltages.|
The large display is easy to read and a high voltage symbol appears when voltage is present. The voltage can be applied momentarily by pressing a button or continuously by turning it clockwise.
I believe that this is an excellent price for a megohm meter with these capabilities and ease of use. My limited measurements show it to be more versatile and accurate than specified by the manufacturer.
The meter comes without a manual which can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
