For 50 years, when the new QST came in the mail I perused the ads and set it aside awhile before reading the articles. If you like QST ads as much as I do, or have an interest in early ham gear, you will enjoy this volume. It includes over 200 ham equipment ads, organized by decade of introduction. Author Joe Veras, K9OCO, has added a 2-3 page introduction for each decade and a caption for most ads. These provide interesting context. All of the selected ads are interesting. In the interest of including ground-breaking technology, some iconic rigs have been left out (Yaesu FT-101, Drake T4/R4, Tempo S1, etc.). Ads are full-sized and easily readable. However, the pictures look a little muddled and gray despite the slick paper. The absence of color detracts from the more recent ads. Unfortunately, no index is included. Overall, a nice volume to read and keep in your library. Soft covers and about 250 pages.
