Take a look Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Been a subscriber for over 5 years....they do a good job of covering a diverse field. I also get Monitoring Times, QST, CQ and World Radio, and it's interesting to see the different slant they each give to the same story. Popular Comm has Gordon West who is very entertaining, and just concluded a 5 part article on going mobile on HF, the kind of thing you just don't see in QST.

Riddled with errors Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I picked up an issue at HRO the other day. The
headline on "Crisis Communications" drew my interest. What a waste of money! The text of the article was riddled with inaccuracies that would be apparent if one visited the websites of the entities involved, or monitored the Wunclub (Worldwide Utility News) website.

On the other hand, it did have some good ads. :-)

Vastly Improved! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Let's get past one fact. The name of this magazine is Popular Communications, NOT CQ Amateur Radio, 73 Amateur Radio, or QST. Popular Communications(PopComm) has greatly improved their coverage of communication subjects over the past year. They've always reported on Pirate Radio and nary a word was said. Now they have finally begun to report on 11 meter activity instead of turning a blind eye to it. I immediately subscibed an e-mailed the editor that my recent subscription was the direct result of NOT catering to the whining of the "I want it my way & the heck with everybody else" crowd and reporting on what's REALLY happening in the world of communications. He promptly responded and thanked me for my support, very decent. You read what you like, and you leave what you do not. If you want to read an exclusionary periodical, read QST...If you want good unbiased communications journalism, read PopComm. It's about time.

P.S. Kudos to Alan Dixon for having the courage to go to bat for us with his, no OUR, petition. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read "I Work 11 Meter DX...& I VOTE!" A harbinger of good things to come, I hope.
