stunning antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
well i have been using it for a couple of months now and it’s the best antenna i have had in a vehicle for some years, i know it does not tune on 160 or 50 mhz with the small whip, but i have been working all over the glob from the west coast of the usa to the far reaches of vk and zl, superb build quality and stunning tuning with no rf getting back to the radio or outboard speaker in the car, the only thing i had to do was change the rs232 plug on the end for the normal tuner socket on the rear of the icom radios, this saves you a chunk of money and it seems that it’s only offered as a opc cable as some people can’t use a soldering iron,

thumbs up for icom, i know it’s costly but it’s the best i can and have found,

ps: if you have a cover wire antenna up at work just remove the antenna whip and connect your wire to the ah/740 press tune and away you go,

one very happy icom fan and mobile user,

Works as advertised Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I'm using this for my diplomatic and amateur operations in Central America and it exceeds my expectations works much better than previous screwdriver antennas that we were using it even loads on 160 the efficiency on 3 to 8 megahertz is much better than scorpions or HiQ antennas

Wow Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I've only had this one for 3 months now. It's HUGE.
It comes with a slightly taller whip (2.5m) than the AH740 version. I bought this one to suit my Icom IC-F8101.
Have used it on 80 and 40m mainly with the same results as the 740.
It also tunes on 160m
The big plus for this one is it can be programmed to work with Icom, Codan and Barrett control signals, but it also has RF Sense to can be used with just about anything.
Bit pricey but worth the effort if you need an antenna that covers all HF bands plus commercial frequencies in the one unit.
