Ode to the B varriant Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've owned the B varriant of this antenna for about 19 months now.It' was assembled in under twnety minutes, tuning included. With the antenna mounted at about 15 feet it isn't suprising to make an 80 mile trip into a repeater. Haven't experianced any detuning due to rain of oxidation as of yet, this antenna was fairly sturdily built. Now, at 14 feet it isn't an antenna that most people mount indoors ..due to the radials. The picture is this: if you want an antenna that will deliver what it promises..this is the antenna that you want. I will be mounting it at 60 feet on top of a stack of two Cushcraft 11 element 2meter beams in about three weeks. This will hopefully increase my coverage area so that I can use the vertical as a spotter ,and tune in on the signal that I want with the beams. Will update this review at a later date . If anyone is interested in the results, feel free to e-mail me. 73's Dean'o/KD5JZN

good quality, performs well Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Easy to assemble, mount and tune. I'm getting good omni performance at a location in forest, reaching repeaters 100km+ distant. Looks nice also. I suspect that the ARX-2B with radials would be a better unit to buy however. I only bought this one as it was a half price special, helped to overcome the low aussie dollar. The construction of the antenna is all quality, only gripe is the UHF socket doesn't allow much thread of the coax plug to engage.
