Keep away from this guy at hamfests. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought one of these at the Esbjerg Hamfest 2014.
After being home, i couldn't wait to get started, so i did just that.
Found out the director element were too short, so wrote him at his homepage about this problem.
He answered back what the measurement SHOULD be, nothing else. I already know what it SHOULD be, which i wrote back, and since then,no answers, though i tried one more time.
Also, the mounting of the phase line(brass), is very flimsy, its just glued to the elements(aluminum).
Well, I corrected all this after some time, and fired up the antenna. RIGHT, i DID FIRE UP the antenna. I heard some cracling, and smelled an awful smell after TX'ing about 30W, it turns out the capacitors used for fine-tuning, are tiny little plastic-trimmers, i guess they should not have seen more than Max 5W.
So, save your money, and buy another brand, or make your own HB9CV, that's what I will do now.
