Poor sensitivity Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This radio is death on receiving the NOOA stations in my area. A lot of the problem is the Wal-Wart power supply. Unplugging the power cord helps a lot to bring the sensitivity back to what you would expect out of this receiver. I had a Radio Shack snap on RF Choke and installed that on the power cord and now plugging the power cord back into the receiver results in better but not great reception. Without this choke the hash on the power cord was so bad the storm weather alerts where not coming in. In the future I plan on contacting Midland and/or pick up another Wal-wart. However the voltage is not the 12v you would expect but 9v If I recall correctly so caution if you do this.

In summary the unit is easy to program and our local TV station sets up a table and sells these units for $29.95 and programs them at NC at many Walgreen etc stores that handle this unit. If you buy one of these be sure and check after placing it on the shelf or table that it indeed does in fact receive the NOOA weather channel for your area. This unit may be worse than having nothing to warn of a coming storm as it can fool you thinking it will warn you when in fact it only sits on the shelf and looks impressive.
